Michelle Obama Watch

Michelle has GOT to be careful. You can argue and defend her everyday but she needs to PAY attention to the words that come out of her mouth. The campaign may need to pull her back. Sorry folks I don’t drink the MIchelle Obama koolaide. I’ll defend her but I’ll also call her out if I think she said something that’s damaging. I’m a realist and EVERY little word that comes out of your mouth can be twisted to make you look EVIL. She’s at the part of this campaign where she SHOULD know this. This comment doesn’t help.

Michelle’s comment is GOP gold. It just proves to them that she is an ungrateful, elitist who is out of touch with working class Americans. Sorry, but very few working class and middle class people pay $600 bucks for a pair of earrings. $600 dollars may not look like much to her but it could be somebody’s ‘jackpot’. It could pay off a medical bill, credit card, or whatever. Somebody who makes less than $25K a year may think differently.

Does she read her own press. It’s not very favorable. I’m shaking my head because it’s mistakes like this that highlight the ugly. I hope this comment is a rumor and that there’s no tape. Because they’ll demonize her some more. Michelle’s needs to wake-up and recognize.

She needs to be quiet or chose her words carefully. I don’t think she can do either.

Lastly, Michelle maybe Barrack’s Bill Clinton. You do NOT want to go into a damage control over your spouses comments.

Does anybody Remember Bill Clinton’s Jessie Jackson comments, or his “this is guy is nothing but a fairytale” comments, or him trying to defend Hiliary’s Bosnia lies, or him getting into it with reporters. Those took up the news cycle for days and weeks. It drove voters away from Hilary and took her off message. And it also harmed his image. If you take a poll within the African American community right now, I’m sure some of us are not pleased with Bill Clinton. This campaign has really hurt his image.

NOPE you are wrong. It isn’t about context. It is about soundbytes and branding. Its about who you want to share a beer with. It is about whose cookies you like best or what the First lady wears.

To political junkies who follow elections and listen to entire speeches it i about context, but this election is about ordinary American’s voting and they aren’t going to take time to go back and review the tape and apply context. they hear someone saying that $600 is nothing and in a lot of places $600 is a whole LOTTA money

I’m not struggling and i would not have missed the money, but i remember when I did struggle. i remember not having health insurance right out of college and having to pay CASH and $600 is a LOT of money to a significant portion of the population. $600 is a month’s rent. $600 can buy you a car in some places.

I get her point. The $600 was a dog and pony show. It did nothing but put us further into debt, but to hold up earrings as the example when many people will never own a $600 piece of jewelry other than their wedding ring was a mistake in the CONTEXT of a political campaign where her husband struggled with blue collar workers. I mean this is the woman who made a $148 dress a best seller.

No, Jesse didn’t save her. This soundbyte is just being held in abeyance and it is going to come back around October or so.

We don’t get to declare what has “legs” and what doesn’t. Otherwise that whole”Whitey” tape foolishness would have been nipped in the bud. People are still razzing John Edwards about a $400 haircut.

It wasn’t a criticism, just a thought.

The Whitey tape wasn’t nipped in the bud. Once you start talking about it on cable news, it already moved from the posit of no return. More people hear about the rumor than about the debunking.

I think Michelle does need to be more careful about what she says and how she says it as every move she makes is being watched. What I am shocked about is that more people are not making an issue out of the Jesse’s comments. This guy’s ego is simply out of control and his jealousy and stupidity is just the beginning. Jesse Jackson is in danger of trying to destroy “hope” which he has always pledged to keep alive. Further more his castration statement is utterly stupid. Doesn’t he realize that by castrating Barack he will castrate the future of many black boys who are now begining to see new possiblities for their lives? I’d like to see more outrage about this and his personal issues. After all he is one of those black men that created a single mom as a result of his affair.

If Michelle thinks the $600 is such a small amount, why is her dear husband suggesting to give another one when he is President??? Let’s just hope the PUMA’s can write in enough Hillary votes or vote for McCain to keep BO and MO out of the White House!!

Oprah has shut her site down because the Obama’s are making Oparh look foolish!!. Poor thang.

When I first heard Michelle speak, many months ago, I immediately felt she would be her husband’s Achilles’ tendon. And she hasn’t let me down. I don’t support Obama for the White House so every syllable she utters is fine by me. She seems so deliberate when she speaks that I don’t believe she just mis-speaks. Spending $600 for jewelry pieces isn’t outlandish when a strand of her Tahitian pearls can cost $10-18K…certainly within her budget.

She needs to remember who’s running for the office and temper her brain/mouth connection. Should he win, she can spend the next four years saying anything that comes to mind.
