Sandra Rose is not Tavis Smiley. She knew her comments were not going to go over well in the comments section and she does not care. That’s Sandra Rose – if every other Black blogger says left and she thinks right, she’ll say what is on her mind. Tavis quit in a huff because his feelings got hurt when he was no longer Black America’s darling. He felt he was unworthy of the criticism. Sandra can and will hold her own. Tavis should have talked to her, not the other way around.

In Sandra’s defense. I think her criticism is directed at Barack and Michelle, not Malia. She has stated her discomfort in the past with placing children in what she believes to be adult situations, but I posted it because it was a different take on the weeMichelle’s appearance.

Oh please! Michael Jackson does not compare to Malia Obama! Is Malia pursuing a career in entertainment? Is she on a grueling world-wide tour singing with her siblings and giving countless interviews? Give me a break!

You can count on one hand the number of times you have heard either Obama girl speak and I’m sure they know plenty of kids their own age. I was not raised by two Harvard Law School grads for parents and I was very well-spoken when I was a kid – and so are a lot of other smart 10-year-old girls of all colors – IT IS NOT UNUSUAL.

The idea of Malia being articulate “proving” to Sandra Rose that she is “too mature for her age” only exposes her own ignorance.

I watched the video of 10-year-old Malia Obama speaking to a reporter and I swore I was listening to a 19-year-old speak! One of my loyal readers wrote, “This little girl is the most well articulated 10 year old I’ve seen in a long time,” — proving that Malia is too mature for her age.

Oh please. I can only imagine what she would’ve said about me when I was coming up. I was known as a “highly mature old soul” reading books sans pictures, Time magazine, NY Times, and watching 20/20 and 60 Minutes. And I’ve been that way since I was 7.

I have 2 girls, 11 and 7. Malia and Sasha and their parents remind me of my girls, me and my husband and most of the families we know. Lovely, smart, normal kids. Parents in love with the kids, in love with each other and just being a family—inspite of their unique circumstances. I love what I have seen of the Obama family and I hope they are the next residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It would bring a much-needed touch of humanity and normalcy to our national life. I don’t understand the criticism aimed at this beautiful and successful family.

Get a life Sandra Rose…These children are smart and it shows. You must not have anything else to do but sit around and wait on something negative to say. Black America, let’s get united. America, let’s get united and leave dumb comments out.

“In response to learning that those government employees that work for the Treasury Department are purportedly the children’s “playmates” Sandra expanded on her earlier comments:

What kind of life is that for children? It’s obvious that these kids spend all of their time around adults. But it’s important for children to interact with other kids their age to enhance their social skills.”

Uh, let me interject from experience, for a bright child, it’s a stimulating, terrific life to have so much adult interaction. I was that little girl, and times like that were some of the happiest, most formative times of my life. Also, the kids have little friends of their own, so where’s the fire? I don’t know much about Sandra Rose, but it just sounds like she’s playing contrarian just to be contrarian. I don’t imagine these opinions run too deep or are taken very seriously by the person who writes them.

It’s funny because she says things I strongly disagree with, even to the point of possibly finding some of her comments to be below the belt, and yet I don’t have feelings of anger towards her… curious. It’s gotta be the “Auntie” effect AJ wrote about in the other thread about Sandra’s opinions on the little Obamas. You can’t get mad at your Auntie!

It amazes me how much Sandra Rose bashes the Obamas. Every day she posts hate stories on the Obamas but never once have you seen her write anything about Bush when he was in office. She’s obviously striving for much needed attention and we are definitely giving it to her. It actually got to the point this week where I decided not to support her hate by going to her page. And just a little off the subject, she also talks incessantly about her dislike for Beyonce and then posts numerous Beyonce advertisments on her page. I don’t get it, is she bipolar?? I think everyone should boycott her site. We can’t afford in this day and age to support such hatred.
