Julie Chen of the CBS “Early Show” interviewed Michelle about the campaign and life with Barack. You can read see the full interview here or read the here. But Michelle’s answer to one question is just simply – well amazing. Reminds me of all those black and white romance movies that “faded to black” rather than leaving nothing to the imagination. Makes you all warm inside.

MS. OBAMA: Well, I think this — our anniversary. It wasn’t — nothing is as spontaneous these days. But the fact that he took time off the campaign trail, flew home, took me to a wonderful dinner, gave me a beautiful gift — that I won’t share — and that, you know, the fact that he did it in the midst of all this, because I told him, “You know what, let’s just not worry about our anniversary this year; we can celebrate later.” He’s, like, “Absolutely not.”

I admire this couple so much. They are so genuine in their feelings for each other, and their little girls are a delight. I remember one interview where the girls were hoping they’d get a chance to redecorate their bedrooms in the White House. Watching them grow up will be a treat.

I agree! I know that no relationship is perfect. They’re relationship seems to be genuine and made out of mutual love and respect. I don’t completely dislike McCain, but the fact that he cheated on his first wife and left her for the “trophy” wife he has now speaks volumes about his character. It also speaks volumes about the character of Cindy, who chose to be “the other woman”.
