What an honor, there is HOPE in our world! LOVE YOU ALL!

As happy as I was when Barack won, when I realized that Michelle was going to be our first lady I think it took my breath away a little. She is such a smart, strong, beautiful woman. I can’t wait to see what she and her husband are capable of achieving as the leaders of our country.

I am happy to hear that Barack is the new president. Does anyone know who Michelle Obama was wearing during the election. The dress was quite interesting?

I could not help but shout last night when Barack introduced Michelle to the whole world as our new first lady! I’m still grinning at those words. She is such an inspiration to women of color in every area – education, career, motherhood, marriage, fashion, the list goes on and on. I hope she comes out with her own autobiography! I want to know everything about her.

Can someone reiterate what Ms. Obama’s speech mentioned about how “refreshing it will be to see black children running around the White House”. Was this comment necessary? Why couldn’t she simply say “it would be refreshing to see CHILDREN running around the White House”. Why does she have ot bring race into this comment? I am now regretting voting for Obama because I think this woman is going to be trouble.

I am proud to have Barak and Michelle as role models for our country. They are thoughtful, intelligent, gracious and honest. Michelle is truly a role model for us as women. She is strong, bright, and confident. She is a professional in her own right. She loves her husband and her children. It is refreshing to see that her children are her first priority. Michelle is a First Lady that I, as a fifty something woman, can finally relate to and admire. And… this has nothing to do with color. She will not stand behind Barak gazing like a Stepford wife. She will stand beside him as a partner. America finally gets to see a healthy, loving, real relationship in the White House. The Obama White House will be the real deal, not the assumingly, picture perfect years of Camelot.

I HOPE BARACK AND MCHELLE REMEMBER THAT “CHANGE” WAS THEIR TICKET TO THE WHITE HOUSE. I hope that they don’t take it as a blank check to buy expensive dresses for Michelle and her daughters, for food freebies, luxury spa detailing on a daily basis, expensive facial and body treatments, etc. General Accounting Office estimates that any First Lady who comes without her own wardrobe – lke Michelle would, coming from an impoverished background – costs the average taxpayer $1.75 Million a year in closthing allowance, $1.2 Million a year in “upkeep” – meaning spa facials and massages – and 250,000 in “dress accessories” – eg, shoes and belts. Jewelry was not included in the GAO estimate. Just imagine how much additional that would be. And these are THEIRS TO KEEP, and take with them when they leave the White House. The last lady to run up that kind of bill was actually Hillary Clinton. Laura Bush apparently mostly used “Bush old money” for her shopping needs, and was not reported to be such a drain – just under $750,000 in her husband’s first term, and even less the next. Chelsea Clinton’s expensive Sidwell Friends schooling cost the taxpayers a hefty $4 million during the Clinton years – excluding the cstomary donations and fundraising private schools do. Is Obama going to pass on $8 Million in private school costs to the Taxpayer for his two girls? Is that his idea of “change”? True CHANGE would be sending them to a local public school – and really learning first-hand about what thie country’s educational needs are. Either that, or paying for private school himself, through his own six-figure Presidential salary, like everyone else in this country is supposed to do. Presidents do not pay federal income taxes. How about Obama bringing in some “Change” to that? I for one would like to see less hypocrisy about his “change” and more sincere action. Let Obama come into office with nothing but his ideas and the clothes on his family’s back, and of course their luggage. Let him pay for their clothing and beauty needs from his own paycheck. As President I understand he will need some good quality suits for himself to be presentabe in front of the world’s leadership. The Presidential Office can provide for his suits, up to a reasonable limit, say $50,000 worth of clothes a year? That can be an allowable benefit that the US public would deem reasonable for their Commander-in-Chief. Anymore, would make him a Commandeering-Thief. Sasha and Malia’s grandmother is reportedly going to be relocated to some ultra-expensive DC suburb to be near her grandkids. What I don’t understand is, why should the US taxpayer pay for the grandmother? Or for anyother relative in fact? What are they bringing to the table to help this nation progress and succeed? The White House will obviously be able to hire good babysitters, and the girls are not infants. Obama should be able to pay for the babysitting from his paycheck. After all, a high-school kid at $10 an hour can’t be all that expensive for a President. It seems to me like Nepotism is going to be very much in vogue during the Obama administration – Craig Robinson, Grandma Robinson, Maya Sotero, etc… – can the Obamas please not put more of a drain on the American taxpayers than the banks already have? By my estimates, the Obama family – ie just Michelle and the girls, not even including the grandma and uncles – is going to cost the average taxpayer close to $9 Million a year – and that’s not even including the cost of their security retinue. Can the US taxpayer really afford that in this economy? $9 Million a year * 4 years = $36 Million for just his first term in office. That’s also not including their meals, lodging, travel, toys, and other “extra things”. Where is the $40 Million going to come from…. why can’t Mr Obama bring change FIRST TO HIS FAMILY – by keeping them covered under his paycheck, and covering all their costs, except official travel for Michelle. The kids should not need to travel more than on an annual vacation, which should come out of his paycheck anyway. The security, drivers, etc, are a benefit of being the “first family”, and I would not expect them to come out of his pay, but definitely Michelle’s and his girls’ clothing, accessories, hair, beauty, cosmetics, shoes, etc, REASONABLY SHOULD.
Let’s bring CHANGE on!

Don’t spoil the fun!
I did not even vote for Obama (though I respect him, I voted pro life), his family deserves all the perks and flourishes the position affords. THe office of President of the United States is huge. I agree there are abuses and excesses, but don’t jump to conclusions right now. We can still afford to celebrate our new first family. Personally I can’t wait to see Michele in Chanel!

I refuse to refer to someone who isn’t proud of her country as “my” first lady. Good luck on trying to be the next Jackie O, or “like” Laura Bush- these fine ladies had more grace and class in their little fingers than this election stealing racist has in her entire body. The best we can hope for is that she doesn’t manage to embarass teh country TOO much; maybe she can just keep her big mouth shhut and stay out of the way for 4 years.

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!! this is to all of you big mouth people that are complaining about how the PRESIDENT ELECT and his family should live, who are you to say how much money they should live on, do you complain about BUSH spending BILLION’S OF DOLLAR’S on a senseless war? YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK, you want BARACK and his family to live as though they are street people, well quess what people, I hope that each and every time the FIRST BLACK, FIRST LADY show’s her face in the public, she will be dressed to the HILT, and as a matter of fact, if you go through the internet, you will see picture’s of MICHELLE OBAMA looking as if she just came out of a fashion magazine, MICHELLE has been dressing down because of the campaign, but trust me this woman know’s how to dress, and I can’t wait to see her beautiful GOWN’S, so put that in your PIPE AND SMOKE IT.

I hear that someone is suggesting that the first lady should be paid. Is this Michelle’s idea? She had to leave her high paying job, the one that she received right after her husband was elected to Senator. Do you know that when Michelle campaigned in Ohio, she said she understood the problems of voters because ballet and piano lessons were so expensive. And you know, a future president and his wife only just got out from under their ivy league college loans. How can that be in America? Michelle Obama does not understand choices. you go to expensive schools, you have to pay the tuition. You can go to less expensive schools. But then, you may not have the credentials to be President. You want to live in the white house, you have to give up your Chicago job. Does’t she realize she can stay in Chicago and work while Obama runs the country in Washington? It is a choice you know.

Michelle Obama is a whiner. She complained to Human Resources about her boss. She didn’t like the work she was assigned. Funny though, the work she was too good to do, is exactly the same work Barack Obama did. I don’t think either of them ever tried a case. They were both entry level attorney’s.
