Dr. Lawrence Brown, the Director of the University of Tennessee’s Center for Medication Therapy Management, remembers the First Lady in Waiting as a star student in his seventh grade class. Both Brown and Michelle attended Bryn Mawr Elementary School in Chicago and were in the gifted class.
The tallest girl in the class, Michelle was one year older, according to Brown, but she had also skipped the second grade. Seated on the front row, and disgusted with the yellow pants his mother dressed him in, Lawrence Brown remembers picture day like it was yesterday.
I actually Googled ‘Michelle Obama and Bryn Mawr,’ which is the name of the school we went to at the time, and sure enough, in an interview she had, she talked about Bryn Mawr, and when she said she was in the gifted class, I said okay, its got to be her.
Dr. Brown is the young man seated on the floor with the look of disgust on his face. Seems he remains none to happy with those yellow pants his mother made him wear.
My plan was get in that third row so I could be standing up and people would be in front of me so that way I won’t have those pants seen.
Well, Dr. Brown, now the whole world will see those pants!

SJP I was in the grocery store this weekend and saw a headling on the National Enquirer about MIchelle Obama’s “First Love” They went and tracked down her High School prom date and brought out the prom photos. She was sitting in a wicker chair. Everybody has one of those ginormous wicker chair photos.
I have a ton of photos just like this one too.

When I heard she went to Bryn Mawr I googled it too, being a former Bryn Mawr student myself. I can’t see this picture close up, but that looks like Mr. Martinez, whom I had in a gifted class also, but I think it was a couple years before this. Is that Mr. Martinez?

Yes that is Mr. Martinez. I had him for fifth and sixth grade, then went to Mr. Bennet for seventh and eigth.
