there should not have been any type of backlash against Maya Angelou
she is a wonderful woman
a beautiful poet an icon
she had a right to support any candidate that she wanted
i think the people who wrote the nasty things about her on certain blogs
should be ashamed

even though she supported Hillary it didn’t mean she wasn’t proud of Barack and Michelle

It wasn’t so much that Maya and many of the older black folks supported Clinton…

The problem was the Clintons came unmasked in the process and behaved horridly towards their fellow democrat Obama (note how extremey respectful and careful they were with John McCain who made painful jokes about their once teenage daughter; heaping never-ending praise upon him even as they couldn’t muster the slightest hint of civility towards Obama)-

They were infinitely condescending & hateful where Barack stayed above fray and refused to sink to their level.

Shamefully, not one of these so called “long time” black “friends” of the Clinton’s had the nerve to call them on their very bad behavior- Instead some like Bob Johnson sank even deeper into the murk…

The Clinton’s singlehandedly attempted to destroy Obama as they have with those who’ve dared to challenge them before (see Caroline Kennedy); but many of us white and black alike saw through their crap…and it was really ugly, disgusting and sad-

Even to this moment, the Clinton’s will do anything to sabotage Obama…
But we are keeping our eyes trained on them…

What most of these so called black “friends” of the Clinton’s don’t understand (or maybe some do), is that they have and always were carefully cultivated simply for the purposes of exploiting the previously overlooked but very useful black voting block – a whopping 17% of the voting population.

But then again, for many of these black Clinton “friends” its always really been a fairly symbiotic relationship…It was always been all about them too! They’ve been personally rewarded, even if not as well as their white peers, for keeping up the myth of “the Clintons are great and have done so much for black people” and delivering the black vote in the process whenever they demanded it…

The idea that somehow most black people are so idiotic that they don’t understand what the Clinton’s tried to do during these elections is even more insulting…My friends in Europe would call in anger asking how incredibly undiscerning so we were, because from where they were tens of thousands of miles away, it was as clear as day how incredibly horrid and vindictive the Clinton’s were-

My wise father always contended that the measure of a true non-bigot was not how they responded to the downtrodden black man when in the stronger position of authority and wealth…A true non-bigot does not lose their mind and strike out in anger and condescension when you now as an equally accomplished and qualified competitor set your sights on the same pot of gold as they…

For many of these older black folks and unfortunately buffoons like the extremely envious, inarticulate and deluded Tavis Smiley, the eternal colonization of their minds and of course their greed and self-serving ways will always trump the true realization of the civil rights movement; inspite of what they’ll have us believe…

But ultimately, there are those for whom the white man’s ice will always be colder…no matter how contaminated and suspect…

Note Michael Steele’s straight face raves of Sarah Palin while trashing Barack Obama…But then again he was just a pathetic joke like the other “black republicans”….the ultimate oxymoron!

But it sure is infinitely lucrative business these days volunteering one’s services as the “willing to be exploited for a fee”, token black man/woman, strategically whipped out for special occasions such as photo ops at all racist white republican events and for all “the black guy said it not us” Obama bashing theater…
