I’m officially old. I think the Jonas Brothers are like New Edition or New Kids on the Block, but they are a big deal with the Disney set and the Jonas Brothers paid a visit to Sasha and Malia’s movie night at the White House last night.
At the end of Malia and Sasha’s scavenger late-night hunt, they opened a door to discover their favorite musical performers: Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas — the pop boy band sensation who first exploded on the Disney Channel and also appeared earlier this week at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert.ABC News.

I’m glad for them. There are great kids and this whole thing has got to be overwhelming for them. They deserve all the treats they can get until they settle in to as normal a life as they can manage.

So the weeMichelles got to meet their favorite singing group? That is GREAT! I am so happy for them! They looked so adorable and cute jamming on the stage with the Jonas bros (They seem like really good boys, that group, glad they are the girl’s favorites!) at the concert hosted by Michelle!

It bothers me a little bit that Malia and Sasha are referred to as “tweens” in that article. They’re children. And with the way this country sexualizes and exploits black girls, calling them “tweens” when they’re only 10 and 7 makes me slightly nauseous.

I read that too. I think we’re posting on it on Sunday. Her first official statement is about some dolls. Now the toy company is saying its just a “coincidence” that the dolls are names Malia and Sasha.

I don’t know. I am a huge Obama supporter, and I couldn’t be more overjoyed than I have been in the last few days, but personally, the Jonas brothers at the end of the scavenger hunt seems over the top for a family that says they want the girls to have as normal a life as possible.
It’s great that they can meet them and appear with them on TV (on the Ellen show, or at the Disney Kids’ ball, as they did) but it just seems a bit much to have them appear at your slumber party.
Now, on the other hand, perhaps the Jonas Brothers offered and the parents didn’t want to turn them down, and I do recognize that those girls have been so good throughout the campaign. But……
