I think she is being what she is, a happy, full of life & adorable little girl. People needs to focus on the positives. Sasha & Malia please just continue to be yourselves and don’t listen to the negative things that people have to say. You have two wonderful role models in your life (mom & dad). Stay positive girls! I saw the “sassy” thing. When I read it I said to myself “ok so when is the oh no you didn’t use sassy” posts going to come? lol I know all about the history of how black women are treated in this country, espically since I am one, but we need to learn to not take everything as a racial attack. Sassy suits her just fine. She’s full of spunk and she’s well sassy. She’s too cute for words, I hardly think that was meant as an insult nor should the word be forever connected to something negative.

Why is it so hard to refer to the Obama family simply as, Mr President or President Obama. 1st Lady Michelle Obama and young Sasha and Malia Obama. Why do we need the unnecessary labels.

This is not the fashion industry where we need sass to sell a product, it is not a nightclub where we want sassy youn images, this is the 1st family of the United States of America.

What were the code names for the last two daughters and why weren’t they labeled…. it would have been deserving.

I am totally in love with the Obama girls. They are both so adorable in their own way. What a testament they are to the parenting of Michelle and Barack. I look forward to the next four (hopefully, eight) years of watching them grow.

It’s nice to say that the First Family can consult the Clintons for advice on how they kept their daughter out of the spotlight. But let’s keep it real, Chelsea is no Malia & Sasha. She didn’t shut down websites or have dolls marketed in her image and this is only the beginning. First Lady Michelle and her family are indeed the first of their kind. They will have to take it one day at a time as they chart this new territory. I am confident that with their parents, and the ever watchful eye of their grandmother, these little girls will grow up to become just as phenomenal as their mother.

The criticisms of both Malia and Sasha that I have seen on other blogs are on a level of silliness that I don’t remember ever seeing in reference to any other little girls their ages. Someone accused their mother of dressing them like “hoochie mammas,” a derogatory description often made of young black women. As far as Sasha’s “sassiness’ is concerned, I see a pretty, lively little girl who likes hamming it up.

I think the children of all politicians, especially very young children, should not be target–regardless of how people feel about their parents.

Calling Sasha Obama “sassy”, is a lazy attempt to label her in lieu of getting to know her and bestow positve praise upon her. She has shown the ultimate respect for others. She has shown love for her father, mother and sister. And yes she is cute in beauty and actions.

So who has she been “Sassy” to? The answer, no one.

Oh yes, Admin, it was the “shaking of the hips, defiantly” part that had me staring at the screen in disbelief…

This by itself, for me, leaves no room for doubt as to the unsuitability of 23/6’s comments.

I really do hope, that the “comedy” writers responsible get a chance to see some of the viewpoints here.
