Michelle Obama Watch

We are in a time of economic turmoil, war and a general state of unrest thru the masses. What Mrs. Obama wears does not affect this one bit. believe the pundits and critics should stick to what they loosely know…politics. think they are just taken aback by the fact that we finally have a First Lady who can SHOW her arms!

With arms as hot and a personality as fierce as Mrs. Obama – she can wear no sleeves at the polar ice caps and it would be no one’s business!

I think it’s safe to say that the Chicago Tribune reader has issues with Mrs. Obama that have nothing to do with her wardrobe.

I’m sure that she would have nothing to say about Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy in her sleeveless dress at her husband’s State of the Union address on January 14, 1963 – also known as “the season of winter.”

Yep Edwina, that’s the same picture I linked to in my post about Mrs. Kennedy at the State of the Union. The New York Times put it up first.

I lived in Washington DC for almost a decade, and nobody who lives in that town should be telling anyone else how to dress EVER. The prevailing fashion style for woman should be called “sad bureaucrats who shop at Sears and who have given up on life.” Puhleeze. You go, Michelle Obama!

I can think of only one reason for all the snarky comments about Michelle’s bare arms…JEALOUSY! She looks great so just get over it.

Who is woman tried to “court”? Is it important for people to see the color of her skin?

I like sleeveless outfits. Athough I would personally not wear sleeveless to some of the events that she has worn them.to…she looked great! Just because you or I are a little bit more conservative does not mean that we have to project that onto her. She looks good and I love the fact that she does not care about what anyone says about her. That speaks in part to the love that they share. And she looks BEAUTIFUL in the official first lady photo…

Katie, excellent point! Maybe American women shouldn’t be allowed in public with any skin showing. Thankfully, Michelle is her own person. She’ll ignore the garbage if she happens to read such drivel.

It was good enough for Jackie O and she was not born and raised in Chicago and acclimated to cold temperatures.

It’s not a big deal. But it is annoying to see the first lady wear clothes inappropriate for the event and season. I love sleeveless dresses. But at a setting as the inauguration or the President’s address, a suit is clearly most appropriate. Does she even own a suit? As I read someone say-it’s not a cocktail party. It’s not a wedding either. If she wants to wear a sleeveless dress-she should at least wear a wrap. But really, the woman ought to invest in some suits.

Michelle, looks FANTASTIC. This is her style. She has class and beauty.
