I’ve already addressed this in the original post, but I am posting this in its own post so that this can go out on all of our various feeds. The United Farm Workers did NOT object to the White House Garden. here is their statement:

For the record, no UFW spokesperson has commented on the White House Gardern project nor has anyone from the UFW participated in creating this story. As the writer of the referenced post, I humbly and sincerly apologize to UFW, its members, and the MOW readership. What was thought to be factual information on which the post was based was in actuality a parody. As such, I have forwarded communique to UFW to express my apologies for any untoward critisim or repercussions my post may have caused.

My carelessness for not fully investigating the source information is no excuse. Readers coming here expect the truth to always be reported and it is the responsibility of each contributor to provide nothing less. To do otherwise is NOT in keeping with the purpose on which The Michelle Obama Watch was established at best and at worst diminishes both the message and the intent.
