Michelle Obaa Prays for Patience to Ward off the FoolishnessI put up our praying hands anti- foolishness thumbnail for this one. I’m reluctant to post this because some of you were a bit upset at Tammy Bruce referring to First Lady Michelle Obama as trashy and fake, but this one is kind of hard to ignore. They say these things come in threes so we have one more bout of foolishness coming our way soon. Here is number two of your weekly dose of foolishness and chicanery.

We have to take Huffington Post’s word for it because the language appears to have been stripped by Town Hall. According to Huffington Post, this was the original language over at Town Hall in a post by Burt Prelutsky called Let Us Not Praise Famous Men – Or Women

I’ll make an exception in her case. After all, in spite of the fact that affirmative action got her an Ivy League degree and a $7,000-a-week salary and, moreover, has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa, she insists this is a mean country. The burning question in my circle is: if the First Family gets a female dog, will she be the First Bitch or will she have to settle for second place?Huffington Post

If you read this passage you will see the edited version that currently resides on Town Hall

It’s not just the politicians, but also their mates, so long as they’re Democrats, who get the star treatment. Take Michelle Obama…please. Every time I turn around, there she is on a magazine cover. Now, normally, like the Mafia, I lay off the spouses, but inasmuch as this particular spouse attended the same racist church as her hubby for 20 years, I’ll make an exception in her case. After all, in spite of the fact that affirmative action got her an Ivy League degree and a $7,000-a-week salary and, moreover, has sent billions of dollars for no particularly good reason to Africa, she insists this is a mean country.

Naturally, the left-wing media is now trying to convince us that this James Brown-look-alike has all the allure, glamour and fashion sense of Jackie Kennedy. Town Hall

Chris Kelly at Huffpo wrote piece lamenting this choice of language, but it is hard buying outrage or a demand for an apology from the likes of Huffpo since they like to dabble in “edgy”commentary” themselves at the expense of the family members of politicians. Ironically, if Huffington Post had published this language, they would not have removed it as a sign of how racially transcendental they are as “progressives.”

It interesting that they left in the James Brown language. So if Michelle Obama looks like James Brown, in “his circle” what do the rest of us look like? They all (Huffpo and Town Hall)dabble in the cesspool of racial stereotypes to get their jollies. Town Hall, Huffington Post, and Tyler Perry- they’re all the same to me, getting laughs at the expense of Black women.

Y’all notice a pattern? Stokley Carmichael in a Dress , now James Brown look-a-like…

I’m not surprized. This is still a racist county.I am very aware of that.I see the worst is comeing out of those KKK and skin heads. Are any of you really surprized?.I just hope they are protected from physical harm.We would lose any credibility we have gained as a so called fair and tolerent country

  2. DemoFemale

It is sad that these GOP sore losers are trying to make the Obamas out to be a joke. First, they want Barack to fail as a president and now they are taking cheap shots at Michelle. Huffpo and Town Hall said nothing intelligent, but typical childish talk. You can tell those who are racist and/or part of the GOP because of their hate for the Obamas. They loose their cool and have to say and/or do something to try to make Barack and Michelle look bad. And that is why I will call them sore losers…because look at how they are acting.

When Bush won his 2nd term, a lot of democrats were upset, but not that upset to call Bush names and/or do childish retaliation.

  3. Velma McKenzie-Orr

There are hundreds of comments made and written daily. This is one that does not need to be given credibility by repeating it.

What should be delved into is why America is now trying to disown the creation of Rev. Wright who is an offspring of its more than 200 years of racism.

  4. Free Republic, the ultra-right-wing blogsite, still has the original article up. I’m sure they’ll take it down soon, probably at Salem’s request, so get a screenshot of the article and the comments — there were several commentors who found the “bitch” remark especially clever.

  6. Re: Prelutsky, he fits the usual profile. That being the most UNATTRACTIVE people are the first to insult the looks of others. If anyone doesn’t believe me, just look at his pic. Looks old, fat, bald, and gray. He’s got some nerve.

  7. I was quite mad at Tammy Bruce when she called Michelle Obama “trashy”, so this is just too much. If you don’t like her, you can say she’s unattractive, but you can’t say she’s a James Brown Look Alike! That’s just rude.

  8. Robin

1st Lady Michelle Don’t Look Like James Brown and is Not a Bitch.

  9. mary

What kind of monster are you to write such venom about lovely articulate bright accomplished people? Billions sent to Africa for no particularly good reason? Answers: you’re a racist moron, and regarding Africa $$, for starters look up HIV/Aids in your dictionary. (Hint: H is the letter that comes after G.)

  10. rikyrah

And these are co-called ‘ Christians’.

    Unbelievable.

  11. rikyrah

    I get it…

The Comparison of Michelle Obama TO MEN…folks told me that I was ‘ seeing things’, when I agreed with you about comparing the First Lady to a MAN, when that fool Juan Williams did it.

    It’s no coincidence.

  12. Cindy

This Burt Prelutsky clown is also a contributor to the David Duke – the KKK guy – blog; Pretty much sums it all up…no?

That’s all one really needs to know to understand where they are all coming from.

They’re desperately grasping for alternative words/phrases for N***** to hurl at the Obama’s …and so far we’ve gotten “trash”, “bitch” etc.

They are all bound to lose their collective minds sooner than later and that’s if their heads don’t explode first!

The greatest thing about these elections and the Obama presidency is that the masks and hoods all came off and the full beam has been shone steadily and ever so brightly into that rat hole and they are all scampering right out – And from both sides of the aisle too by the way…

And thank God for that! ‘Cause do we know them all now or do we know them all now?!!

  13. aliciabryant

    Praise the Lord!
Michelle& Barack must be doing something Right to get so much Hate!
They both brushing their shoulders off and keeping it moving.
I found it amazing that people say that they got their ivy leagues degree thanks to affirmative action…And?? so what if they did!
It is clear that they are very bright.
Once people start to feel threaten to the point where they have to resort to this kind of rhetoric, that means YOU ARRIVED.
And Barack and Michelle are not going no where..so they can all kick our beautiful black…ss!

  14. Bev

Burt Prelutsky is Jewish. It is surprising that David Duke would have anything to do with him. Salem communication is in the business of promoting conservatism through Town Hall, not Christianity. But Prelutsky indeed went too far.

I did not vote for Pres. Obama. I have no problem with Prelutsky going against the liberal left Obama administration policies, but I am against getting personal whether its Democrat, Republican, liberal left, conservative right, libertarian or whatever.

Many in both of the 2 major political parties do not have a problem with personally insulting those they oppose politically. Going personal is a sign of low character.

I have to disagree with you about Tyler Perry’s Madea character who is a combination of the mother and aunt who raised him. I had great and great great aunts who behaved liked Madea. There were also elderly women in my neighborhood growing up who were like Madea.

I do not take offense at the Madea character who humorously and lovingly reminds me of those tough but undercover tender women in my life who are no longer here.

  15. Dee

AliciaBryant, you called it 100% correct!

I hadn’t seen your comment about the President and First Lady brushing their shoulders off, when I felt moved to make the same remark elsewhere on here.

“Hey ladies, hey fellas, you know you’re doing good cos they’re jealous. They only hate you cos you’re a go-getter…” How true, Mr. Usher Raymond, how true…!

  16. Nononono

Bev, you support Tyler Perry but not Pres Obama? What?

  17. Grace

I suppose this is stating the obvious: We who support the Obamas do so out of deep respect for them. They are people of good character, virtue, and willingness to give and give and give to others. We are as a culture in so much need of these good people, their welcome leadership and the good role model they provide us.

To use such ugly language as was used in the press this week, seems aimed at tarnishing that image. For what reason? Political gain? What’s bad for you is good for me? That is barbaric! It is eons of evolution away from the level of sophistication and grace that the Obamas bring to the culture.

And maybe some of the trash talk is just coming from people who aren’t able to see those good qualities because they just have too much hate to see good in others. In as much, they could be pitied.

While we enjoy the gift of a lifetime: The Obamas in the White House.

  18. Bev

There is no “What?”, Nononono. Why do you think there is something wrong with liking Tyler Perry and not Pres. Barack Obama? Really, who says I have to support Pres. Obama over Perry, or even support either one?

We black folks are not a monolith. I am a conservative. Pres. Obama is not. I am not in favor of liberal left solutions to our nation’s problems.

Tyler Perry is not dealing with our nation’s problems. He is a successful provider of entertainment and plus he keeps a lot of folks working (Not just the actors, but the behind the scenes’ tech and production workers too). in this down economy.

Really, being president of a country and and a producer of movies is an apples and oranges thing. So yes, I can go ahead and not like the policies of the President, while liking the productions of an entertainment producer. Perry’s Why Did I Get Married (non Madea)
movie is one of my all time favorites.

  19. Cindy

The “black republican” shpill is so incredibly ludicrous…

How does a self respecting black person cling to a group that clearly despises them and would never support them for anything; not even dog catcher…?!

  20. Cindy

    Spot on Grace!

    I can’t believe that any sane person least of all, a black one would look at the Obama’s and the very disciplined, focused, smart, decent people they embody (REAL family values to boot too!);

And somehow still argue with a straight face that any of the clown’s cum idiots touting their so-called “republican/conservative values” (lip-service galore!) are better role models or could possibly do better by this country…

    Total and absolute delusion!

  21. Bev

Well Cindy, you keep subscribing to that black monolith fallacy. Self respecting black people choose the political party that reflects their values, thus my color did not figure into my going Republican. I was a Democrat for a long time. I use to let my color be the grounds for my identification with everything in life. I do not do that anymore, even when other people do it to me.

Pres. Obama has some real family values. His family is beautiful. But he does not have the pro life family value. He is too comfortable with abortion/infanticide. “That’s above my pay grade” remark on the abortion question at Saddleback spoke volumes to me.

His administration is trying to set up, the “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act” which just got past in the House. This voluntary youth plan is really mandatory. Part of its requirement is that young people can not talk about their faith or even worship it in church. (that also goes for the temple or mosque). Now what person of faith of any color in this country is going to stand for that? Count me as one who will not.

I can’t go with the Obama administration’s embracing socialist, government in charge type solutions to this nation’s problem. The trillions of dollars stimulus will have to be paid back by your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and etc.

Democrats have not done everything for black people. It was Democrat voting whites that fought to keep black segregation and blacks having full voting rights in the south. The KKK lynchers were Democrats.

Remember just about the longest and oldest serving Democratic Senator Robert Byrd (who by the way did endorse Obama) of West Virginia was in the hierarchy of the KKK back when they got away with plenty of murders of black folks.

There are still white Democrats that do not like blacks. There were plenty of honest whites for Hillary Clinton in the primaries that let it be known that they were voting for her because of Obama being black. Really blacks are not going to find the answer in either of the 2 major political parties.

  22. InformedPerson

    @ Cindy –

Comments like this are the reason why we can’t have racial equality in this country

“How does a self respecting black person cling to a group that clearly despises them and would never support them for anything; not even dog catcher…?!”

How does a self respecting PERSON (no matter the color) put their entire race into one category (and at the same time would get pissed if another race did the same thing). I am white, and there is no way I could ever put all white people into the same category just like you can’t put all black people into the same category.

Racism is very real in this country, but a lot of black people are hypersensitive and blow an innocent event out of proportion. When people like you stop being racist against your own people (i.e. asking how a black person can be a republican) we can start making progress again. I find it amusing that being black comes up so often in discussion with black people, when the majority of the time white people don’t think of things like in black and white.

  23. Dee

Ooh, aren’t you being a little hard on Cindy, Informed Person? Do you really think she intended to be racist against her own people?! Come on, now….

I don’t agree with everything that she said (liked Bev’s point about the black monolith fallacy), yet can see she expressed her opinion reasonably and fairly, and posed a question that someone could choose to answer just as reasonably.

(It’s late here, so I’ll just leave the “racism is very real” but ” a lot of black people are hypersensitive” thing for another time).

  24. Cindy

Actually, Bev and “Informedperson”, there is that other category: “Independent” which most smart people now opt for…

And Bev…it is so evident from reading your post that your opinions, information and news are mostly culled from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity – (“Democrat” party…?! No… It is the DEMOCRATIC party! )

It’s so incredibly horrifying that any black person would have these incredibly unintelligent, black-hating folks help shape their opinions about anything!

You can swim and soak in denial all you like, but a party and faux ideology fronted by Rush Limbaugh, Tom DeLay, David Duke, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Newt Gingrich and all the other self-serving, blatantly dishonest and brazenly unapologetic black-hating racists will never, ever embrace you Bev – NEVER!

“Conservative” and “Republican” are simply code words for “Rabid white racists and a handful of opportunistic, self-serving and seriously deluded/self-loathing minority people who’ve agreed to be exploited in a cash- inspired mercenary partnership” -

Poor Bev…You probably would have been killed if you’d should up at any of those wonderful, “conservative” Sarah Palin rallies …You know the one’s where all those wonderful, God fearing Christians spewed all that hate of people like you…?!

You can scream all the so-called “conservative” crap you’ve been spoon-fed by the buffoons on talk radio, but know this:

Barack and Michelle Obama are now metaphor for N*****! And whether you like or believe it or not, those attacks are meant for and directed at you too Bev…

You can ask Michael Steele the stooge blackface how it’s all working out for him – They don’t give a rats arse about you – they do not respect you; never have and never will!

And the idea that you simplistically reduce the Obama family values to their being “beautiful” exposes how uncritical, shallow and un-curious you are-

The Obama’s epitomize and actually live the much touted family values the Republicans endlessly spout but can’t even seem to grasp let alone live out….

Babies out of wedlock, Infidelity, 5-6 divorces each, school drop-out kids…the list is endless!

By the way, I’m a staunch pro-life catholic who understands that pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion; And more importantly pro-life means value for EVERY life from cradle to natural death (not from neglect and abandonment of course)-

The natural inclination of “conservatives/republicans” as evidenced by the likes of Cheney et al is to keep and employ this bogus abortion argument as long as it helps them win elections and the votes of not very smart folks; all the while exacting the most wicked and cold-blooded policies on ordinary Americans like you Bev…Your life means shit to them!

It’s hard to believe that many of these people who don’t even know their neighbors and haven’t ever given a damn about their poorer folk within their own communities would actually have you buying this crap they’re selling-

By all means think outside the 2 party system; but do it smartly, independently and without the references to long debunked republican talking points as spewed by Limbaugh, Hannity and their ilk.

  25. Cindy

    Meant to write:
…You probably would have been killed if you’d SHOWED up at any of those wonderful, “conservative” Sarah Palin rallies …You know the one’s where all those wonderful, God fearing Christians spewed all that hate of people like you…?!

  26. Bev

    Cindy,

Can’t go Independent. I live in a state that has closed primary voting.

I see myself as an Independent conservative, but there is no cross party primary voting in Pennsylvania. Independents can only vote for Independent candidates, Dems for Dems and Repubs for Repubs.

Last April in the PA primary, there were no Independents running for anything, so Independents could not vote. Many Obama supporters who were registered Independents and normally do not bother with primary voting had to scramble to become registered Democrats in order to vote for Obama against Hillary Clinton.

I was a registered Democrat going back to 1972. I went conservative in 2006, but did not change my registration to Republican until last April. Cindy, there was a time when I sounded pretty much like you (without the use of profanity). What you have said in your comments, I have believed at one time or another during my 30 plus years as a Democrat.

Yes I listen to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and black Christian conservatives James T. Harris from Milwaukee and Mason Weaver in San Diego. I also listen to the one and only liberal/left black talk radio station in my former hometown of Philly, especially the early morning host, Bill Anderson. I get people riled up like you in the station’s chat room. By the way you can’t cast Rush aside. His radio ratings have gone through the roof into the stratosphere.

Some of those folks you are talking about who came to Palin’s rallies were angry Democrats who wanted Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee. Remember during the primary season many of those folks were honest on camera letting the world know they were Democrats that did not want a black man to become president.

There are old time Democrats that do not like you and do not give one iota about you too Cindy. And I do not think I would have been killed if I had showed up at a Palin rally.

By the way how does Republican conservative principles of individual responsibility, less government, respect for the constitution and life not care for me? Republican conservatism cares about me as an individual citizen of this country and not on the basis of my color. As for former Vice Pres. Cheney, he has plenty of counterparts among Democrats.

I was a little disappointed with Michael Steele, but have gotten over it. It is obvious you do not like his politics, but did you have to get into personal attacks!

I said Pres. Obama’s family is beautiful and that he had some family values. I did NOT say he had beautiful family values. The man does NOT see anything wrong with abortion/baby killing/infanticide which is a humongous non family value. Racial attacks (some coming from angry old time white Democrats) can be directed at me but I do not have to receive them. I view myself as being created in the image of God not in the image of black or white or whatever.

Cindy, I guess as a Catholic, you are prepared to be turned away from the receiving of the sacraments for supporting someone who supports infanticide (as some in the Catholic hierarchy think should be done). Are you coming to the aid of the much Notre Dame official that invited Pres. Obama? You probably would have received a scolding like the one the Pope gave Nancy Pelosi on abortion if you had a personal meeting with him.

Sadly divorce and children born to unmarried mothers can be found in members of the 2 major political parties. When it comes to unmarried parents, well that’s is primarily personal responsibility. With school drop outs you can blame the schools a little, but that is primarily the parent’s responsibility.

You think conservative Republicans don’t know their neighbors and don’t care about the poor? I personally have found that not to be true. I worked for the Salvation Army in 2 poor Philly neighborhoods. The corps officers and employees were mostly Republican. They provided wonderful ministries and services in those neighborhoods, such as free daily lunch meals, heat bill assistance, weekly youth activities, and Christmas toys. Parents would drag out trash bags full of high quality toys when they were going through rough times.

I have been apart of church community wide outreaches in Philly and were I live now in Lansdale to aid those less fortunate. I worked along the side of Republicans and Democrats in these efforts.

And how do Democrats do it any better? How does my life mean more to Democrats than Republicans. The most important things that happen to blacks in my life time, desegregation and full voting rights for all black citizens came with the help of some Republicans whose votes off set the opposing southern Democrats.

I now have a different political view. Life brings about changes.

  27. admin

@Bev , Cindy et al. This blog is about MIchelle Obama. Not the Republican Party- not the Democratic party or any other party for that matter.

In case you haven’t noticed, someone running a blog has to be pretty gosh darned opinionated and as such, I acknowledge that others are free to express their opinions as well and make an attempt to respect the opinions of other free thinking people- as long as they are respectful about expressing that opinion.

Therefore, this little conversation about political parties is

    over.

Take it somewhere else. You have the right to vote for whoever in the heck you want to vote for which is why during the election, I enforced a very strict “no electioneering” rule. I trust other voters to make the decision that is in their best interest.

This blog was started to address the systematic negative depiction of Black women in popular culture. – BY EVERYBODY. That issue affects all Black women irrespective of which party they belong to. Seeing as how most of the damage being inflicted on the First Lady at the time this blog was launched was coming from within the Democratic party, one could hardly argue that Michelle Obama bashing is the excluve province of Republicans. Seeing as how the Huffington Post, NY Times, New York Magazine, and the New Yorker, repeated dabble in racist sexist stereotypes about Black women and girls, you could hardly argue that this foolishness is even the exclusive province of right wing conservatives.

At the end off the day when they come to cart us off back into the 18th century, they aren’t going to inquire about party affiliation. Part of Black people being free is the freedom to choose to vote for whomever in the heck they want to.

Otherwise all the bruises and bloodshed acquiring the right to vote is meaningless. If you don’t have the righ to vote for whomever you want to without being vilified, threatened, bullied, or called a race traitor, then the right to vote is meaningless.

I want Black women at the seat of every table where a decision is being made that affects us so yes, we need Black women who are influential in all political parties, not just the Green Party. We need Black women in the Senate. We need Black women in a governor’s mansion. We need a Black woman to be on the primary ballots in every election seeing as how we are one of the most influential voting blocks and all we have to show for it other than some CBC members with little to no influence on their own party despite having a sizeable voting block.

Black women who are Republicans have supported this blog from the beginning and have indicated their solidarity with our efforts, not because they agree with the policies of the President, but because they realized that they face many of the same challenges that the First Lady faces. Negative stereotypes don’t have a party affiliation.

  28. There’s nothing wrong with being a black republican or conservative. Blacks are NOT a monolith so we don’t have to support the same policies or candidates. With that said, I don’t see the republican party as any more racist than the democrats. Anyone who still believes that the dems are “black friendly” after this election campaign has got to be sleeping. Let’s not forget that Obama won in some red states. However, NONE of this changes the fact that what Prelutsky said was disrespectful and uncalled for. Do I believe it’s racist? No. It’s partisan and nothing more. Remember, many a republican bashed Hilary Clinton and a major political GOP figure referred to Chelsea Clinton as ugly (when she was in her early teens).

  29. My apologies to Gina. I saw your post after my comment was posted.

  30. Cindy

Sorry Gina…I’ll make this last point and then get off-

Earlier on on this thread I wrote:

“The greatest thing about these elections and the Obama presidency is that the masks and hoods all came off and the full beam has been shone steadily and ever so brightly into that rat hole and they are all scampering right out – And from both sides of the aisle too by the way…”

    I’d like to add that this ironically includes your democratic governor Ed Rendell Bev;

But a handful of racists within that party does not equate a predominance of said racists in the Republican party…

And when the Clinton wing of the democratic party absconded – you know the hard working white ones and the Lynn de Rothschild’s…?! They found a natural home where…? In the established and decidedly racist Republican party where they were guaranteed that such a travesty as a black man being picked over a white anything would never, ever occur…

To Bev: I’m no democrat…never have been; so it figures that unlike you, I’ve never been bamboozled…and never will be-

I don’t listen to talk radio either – those clowns are paid handsomely to keep you guys entertained while dumbing down America by spinning lies, distorting half truths and dangerously inciting the very uneducated and easily manipulated.

    I pick my candidates based on their depth of knowledge and smarts, decency, integrity and ability – I picked Barack Obama and by extension his lovely and solid wife Michelle, simply because they met and exceeded every one of these set criteria;

I like and respect Colin Powell a lot…he meets the criteria too – and if he’d ever run, I might have supported him as long as he didn’t select a sham running mate such as Ms. Palin or relied on Karl Rove for direction…I suspect he wouldn’t have done either – and that’s where the integrity bit comes in…

The idea that the unprecedented attacks on Barack and Michelle Obama have more to do with their poltical leanings and ideology and not their race is so naive and bogus!

There is this real and crippling fear amongst the republicans and some in the democratic party that this black President and first lady could actually do an amazing job…and where would that leave their various political ambitions and much touted “legacies”…?! Hence the attempts to undermine, sabotage, denigrate and demean…

Any successful black person or professional gets it! The Obama’s will be held to the highest of standards (even those that do not currently exist!) and they will have to be a hundred times better to get a half begrudging acknowledgment…

The Obama’s know too well that both their performances in their respective roles will ultimately reflect upon and affect blacks in this country and beyond; including you Bev, for many years to to come in the most fundamental of ways –

But I have no doubt that they are up to the challenge…History will remember this black couple as one of the most phenomenal of president’s and first lady’s this country ever had – just you watch!

We had 8 years of inept and incredibly flawed republican “leadership” and we heard nary a peep from so called black republicans who were paid handsomely to be used for various unsavory purposes including exploiting, manipulating and short-changing black communities on the rare occasion there was a need – like disenfranchising them during elections…

And then the black guy and his black wife get in…within 2 months of his swearing in and the faux outrage, contrived gloom and doom projection propagated by republicans fill the airwaves – calls for “revolution” follow laughably preposterous charges of “socialism” and “burdensome debt left to our children and grandchildren”…

So when you repeat these well-worn soundbites from the Limbaugh crowd Bev…I’m not at all “riled” as you suggest, but rather amused, bemused and sad for you -

Because like it or not Bev, as far as these Limbaugh/Hannity/Palin types are concerned, you are Michelle Obama…and no amount of pleading “conservative values” and “I don’t see color…I’m one of them because we believe together” is going to change that fact -

I long ago stopped giving a damn what the pope and the scandal-ridden priests in my church think or preach…I go to daily mass and I receive communion everyday…I even wore my Barack Obama t-shirts to mass several times over the course of the campaign…nada!

They need my money Bev…they can’t afford to lose that…

I was an avid supporter and benefactor of the pro-life movement which started in the catholic church – and actively participated in the Terry Schiavo case – But that for me was more about returning caretaker rights to her parents and prohibiting a selfish “husband ” who’d obviously moved on, from making any decisions on Terry’s behalf-

But the whole thing’s a sham…contrived for election time manipulation -
and “Fr.” Frank Pavone is simply put, a fraud…

I’ll repeat this: Pro-choice; the concept of hoping that a woman will make what is an independent, moral and right decision regarding a personal matter while conscious of the fact that the government cannot interfere with or regulate said woman and her body/decisions does not a pro-abortion president Obama make – Even his appeal that we find ways of minimizing incidences of unwanted pregnancies the root cause, has been totally drowned out with the faux outrage-

All the best Bev…and here’s hoping that this switch and allegiance to the republican party works out much better for you than did the democratic experience; and may it serve and support you better than it has in modern times, other blacks including Colin Powell…

But never forget: attacks on Michelle and Barack Obama, under any guise, are attacks on you Bev whether you acknowledge it or not…

Bev, I understand your sentiment re the Madea character and would agree with it, IF MADEA WERE PLAYED BY AN ACTRESS AND NOT A MAN IN DRAG. Doing it that way makes it a mockery, rather than a tribute to Black women/Black women like Madea, and I think Perry knows that. He ain’t slick. Those great women are unsung heros yes, but if you are going to honor them, do it the RIGHT way.

As for what this White trash salope (See a French-English dictionary haha!) said about Queen Michelle. She is just a typical hating White woman. The idiots really can’t control themselves now that a sista is first lady!

  32. I just can’t stand it when non blacks are always suggesting or believing that a black person only achieves great strides through affirmative action. This is such a degrading thing to say to anyone of color unless it can be proven. It really pisses me off because I know of many blacks who have gotten where they are by breaking their backs working twice as hard as any non black just to get their foot into the doors that are generally closed to them. And for someone to say that it was just handed to them is infuriating, to think that i worked hard for my grades, did extra work to earn my degree and the opportunities that comes with it; just for someone to say that i got it through affirmative action just makes me see “red”. What about that thing called “white privilege” and the fact that almost everything is handed to the white male, AND he or she just walks through life without any effort. But if I said that I would be looked at as an angry black woman, and a racist, as well as using unfair stereotypes. I wish to God that Michelle and every other black person out there accused of benefiting from affirmative action would at least call these people out and tell them to put their money where their mouths are. Tell those people to have their grades and g.p.a.’s posted online for the world to see. See if they really earned what they have or if they are the ones who got the walk through life. Compare her grades and those of all others who says she doesn’t deserve it. ( I hear that Bush was a C student). Then the world can see who did and didn’t deserve their attainments in life.

I hate bigots and racists, it must be tiring to hate all the time 24/7.

I am just so glad that the Obama’s choose to ignore over 95% of the negatives comments coming from society, because if they did worry they’d be dead now, worrying themselves to death. And even though I don’t think Michelle is the most beautiful woman out there, she definitely doesn’t look like James Brown. PEACE

It’s sad to see thing like this still going on in 2009. Since when is it wrong for a woman to stand by her man and be an icon to young girls black and white. Because she’s black you mean she wasn’t smart enough to get into college on her intelligence, it had to be through affirmative action. My real question to this sad soul is at least she’s making a difference, what the hell are you doing but sitting on ur a** and being a jerk. When Bill was in office you saw Hilary just as much because they were a team. Regardless of what you may think a man needs a strong woman to help him and stand by him because he can’t do it alone. Morons like this person can only sit around and talk about a beautiful and compare her to a man need to just drop off the face of the earth because you have no real purpose in life.
Michelle keep doing what you are doing because you are such an inspiration.
