I just want to say that African Americans need to turn the corner in HISTORY. We have accomplished and contributed far too much to the fabric of WORLD history to be explaining our actions and rights as human beings. The First Family went to Martha’s Vineyard and that is all there is to it, get over it white folks. I hope they had fried chicken and collard greens for dinner, with kool-aid, and watermelon for dessert, at the home of the wonderful Kennedy Family. I heard that Louis Gates was in the vineyard too, well alright!

Goodness, gracious me…..

I take a few weeks away from the computer, and I see that once again all manner of Terminally Disgruntled have come to the forefront…!

First of all, I’m assuming that some of the people posting here have absolutely no idea of the impression of themselves that they are giving. No one says that anyone has to agree with everything that the President, and the First Lady do and say, but I find myself wondering why some people feel such a need to show such malice, bile, and rancour in their posts.

Right now, I’ll just deal with one of you….

Connie, for what it’s worth, this citizen of the world can report back with full confidence that “the entire family” has been behaving and representing Americans – not least, when abroad – in an exemplary manner. It’s a shame that you don’t appear to have noticed. Not been keeping up with the news, then….?

Secondly, what have you got against cleaning ladies, anyway? Your comment is utterly insulting. There are plenty of decent, honest, respectable cleaning ladies performing valuable services and work in their communities. A person doesn’t have to be a professional before they’re a person of worth! I know what you were trying to say, and it is so tiresome to me when someone tries to show their disapproval of the First Lady by comparing her to the maid/the cleaning woman. This is just so ignorant!

I’m sure if you made an effort, were genuinely interested, and did a little research you’d find out plenty about what the President has accomplished over the last 8 months, and the ground work being laid for acomplishments in the future.

“What is the Mother-in-law doing there, where was she living before…”

Again, if you’re genuinely interested, and make even the slightest of efforts, you can find out your own answers to the questions you’ve asked! (I was actually going to say something quite a bit stronger than that….)

Even though I did not vote for him, whatever his race may be he has been elected by the American people, my tax dollars pay his wages so therefore I expect, not just him, but his entire family to behave and represent me as an American. Yes, I did resent fact that she stepped off of Air Force One looking like the cleaning lady. Here’s a question for any of you who can be honest, If you recieved an invitation to the White House how much time would you spend on your appearance?
He has been in office for 8 months,what has he accomplished— right “O” . What is the Mother-in-law doing there,where was she living before, this is where he should realize what the elderly are going through and see the effects that the high cost of living is having on them, Granted he has alot of faults, but we can either start baling out the water or sink with the ship. It’s still our Vote that counts here to.

What this country needs to understand is that she deserves to be respected has the First Lady. People need to think before they open their mouths. This lady is a class act . She’s an excellent mother, awesome wife, business woman, and beautiful woman. Please allow her to be the First Lady because she definitely has earned it. And if she doesn’t want to carry a purse that’s her business, too. Because this lady is fair from GHETTO. Please feel free to define the word Ghetto. I know that the First Lady Michelle Obama picture is definitely not next to it or affiliated with that type of disrespect. Treat her like royalty because she is.

I am happy to see President Obama and family take a vacation. He needs some down time with his family. It would’nt have matter if the first lady had stayed home in the white house, “america” would have found something to complain about. I hope they have an enjoyable stay with family and friends.

It’s truly an HONOR to utter her name. Her genuineness is not comparable to some of the ordinary people. Its a waste of my time to say anything about some of the ill-minded and the ordinary but
to those who try to insult Mrs. Obama, Your insult and your breath is wasted…your words will never be touched by her nor the whole world.

I do agree that the article is a bit ignorant, but I agree with TAG on how Obama is taking to many vacations especially during a big issue as Universal Health Care. The job needs to be done before traveling, it comes with the job of representing the United States of America.

With that being said, I do agree that being under the public eye is hard but that is the representation of America. I absolutely do not want to be represented by a family in slacks, giving the impression of a laid back president. Not a single family that I have seen that was in the White House has ever been dressed and given so much slack on how one has acted like the Special Olympic comment or the comment of police not doing their job incident.

I cannot believe someone had the nerve to say something so insulting about Michelle Obama, about her being Ghetto. At least our first lady is not being pretentious. You must be a racist, a bigot and a poor excuse for an American to even say such a thing. The Obamas certainly deserve a much needed vacation as President Obama has done more for the country in eight months as a President than Brush did in eight years. Remember President Obama is cleaning up the mess of the previous President. President Obama didn’t make the mess that the country is in now but he is certainly trying to clean up the mess.

Whoever person, that referred to Mrs, Obama as ghetto, remember your comment means nothing as you are nobody special and your negative comment is irrelevant. Michelle Obama is in the White House and the envious people and the ones making all the nasty comments are not, you are so pathetic and ignorant. So keep your nasty comments to yourself because they mean nothing.
