I’m still holding on and keeping the faith. Either the wool is being pulled tighter over our eyes, or they are really trying to do what is promised. I’m leaning toward the later. Just having the First Lady on the case gives me a little more hope, she has integrity and grace.

I’m pleased as well that The First Lady is speaking about health care. However as the days pass I fear that there will be no real reform . As a health care professional who has worked in a community health center, pharmaceuticals, and on the insurance end, I think that America’s health care system is sinful. We’re the only industrialized nation that does not have health care for it’s citizens and there’s only one reason, GREED. Insurance and pharmaceutical companies are getting away with more money than a Wall Street banker with a tax payer bail out.

I am delighted to see that Michelle Obama made a visit to Unity Health Center last week and hope that her speech will help shed light on the value of community health centers in this country.They are, after all, integral in delivering affordable health care service to America’s under- served. With the help of Recovery Act grants, community health centers will be positioned to serve more residents of both urban and rural areas.
