Bees are being decimated around the world (most likely by pesticides). They are actually essential for our survival; no bees, no us. So I think its great what Michelle Obama is doing,

I'm glad that the First Lady's first honey harvest is in; it sounds delicious.

As a big honey fan, a little of that very thinly spread on some hot, buttered toast would be just the thing. Drool!

Having learned today that a London hotel near Hyde Park is about install bee hives on its roof, and that apparently some bee keeping courses in the city, are wildly over subscribed it seems that lots of people are cottoning on to the idea of looking after the little, buzzy, - and, yes, Gina, sometimes "stingy"! - creatures.

(It was good to read about your cilantro, too. Nice going!)

You might not like bees....but they sure like you, LOL.

If avoided, as in not chased, harassed or swung at, bees are just fine around people, it's when you take notice of them that the problems start

Gina, congrats on your indoor garden! I get stung by bees, wasp, etc almost every year. Last year I visited a woman who had a rooftop bee hive. The honey was delicious. I went home and started searching for accessories, including bees, to start my own. My husband quickly informed me that it was either him or the bees. Needless to say I never got that bee hive. Maybe if I say look the First Lady has one, I may be able to get my own now.
