I know. I know things have been slow around here. I’ve been juggling 15 different things and I took a blogcation for the first half of August, but I’m plugging back in. I want to send a shout out to Aminah, our newest contributor who has been posting some great work and LorMarie and SJP who are still hanging in there. SO I did my image search and pulled up a bunch of photos of someone who is supposed to be a Michelle Obama impersonator. Remember last month when there were two adorable little girls whose mother claimed they looked like the weeMichelles?Well meet Vernetta Jenkins. I’m not going to comment on whether Vernetta looks a thing like First Lady Obama because I’m not goign to knock her hustle. Vernetta is trying to make a living in these very difficult times as a Michelle Obama Impersonator. So what do you think? Before you judge too harshly check out the guy trying to impersonate Bill Clinton. I guess an impersonator is different from a “look-a-like.”

This woman is a dead ringer for Michelle Obama…only she’s the prettier version! I saw her on Live with Regis and Kelly a few weeks back and while the girls were cute, they didn’t really look like The Obama girls. BUT, when this woman walked out, I almost thought they were trying to fool the audience by bringing out the real Michelle Obama. Even Regis and Kelly were like “WOW! It’s almost scary!” I also saw her in a YouTube video that’s floating around called BLAME IT (ON THE ECONOMY) http://www.youtube.com/vernettajenkins. As far as her making a living, all I have to say is why not?! Seems like she’s putting out a positive image and representing the First Lady well so more power to her! I’m wishing her the best of luck in her new career!

Patsy Gilbert, the Sarah Palin impersonator, is kind of a dead ringer, but Ms. Jenkins…wearing Ms. Obama’s dress and parting your hair on the side doesn’t make you look like Ms. Obama. On the other hand, she does have the advantage of certain folks thinking African Americans all look alike anyway.

I attended this convention as a guest and this woman was indeed a dead ringer for Michelle Obama! It didn’t matter what she had on. She was stopped constantly to take a photo. Everyone kept stopping her and the Barack thinking how close she resembled the First Lady. AND, at their Awards Banquet, she won a “Mirror Image” Award for the most natural likeness to their celebrity. Over 100 people voted on that award so there must be some truth to her resemblance.
And I don’t knock her hustle at all! If she’s able to do it, more power to her.

This woman does not look like Mrs. Obama…r u kidding? The only similarities is she is black with black hair. It doesn’t take anything away from Ms. Jenkins, but she doesn’t look like her. Maybe she sounds like her…I would have to hear her speak.
