As I look back upon my childhood, I reminisce about the clothes that my mother wore and how elegant, refined, and classy she was. As a little girl I dreamed of the day that I would become a young lady who would be a perfect reflection of my mother’s style. However, when I became an adult I was sorely disappointed with the direction that fashion had taken. Women were no longer the epitome of elegance and sophistication.
Enter Michelle Obama. The First lady is the quintessence of style and grace. Thank you First Lady for bringing classy back. Here are a few of my favorite First Lady fashion selections. What are some of yours?

I hated the outfit to meet the Pope, cause I can’t stand those big bows. but, even then, the outfit was ok. She’s had more hits than misses and even with her misses, I come around and see something positive in them – just cause she’s wearing them…lol

I like your selection except the black outfit she wore when visiting the Pope. It was too many layers and too many shades of black. She wears a sheath extremely well; I wish that she had chosen a black one to wear on this occasion. To me, this was a miss. However, none of us are on target all of the time.

No disrespect to Jackie O but she was no fashionista. All she was able to do was wear high end clothes and wear them well but few of us mortals could afford to dress like her anyway. At least Michelle is able to make her OWN STYLE. J Crew with designer labels, belts, brooches and recycled items. She has ready set the standard for what it means to have your own unique style.

Some of Michelle’s clothes I like and some I don’t, but I really don’t care because that’s not the reason why I love her. You should read comments on other sites. Some people are really bent out of shape about what she wears. So what, she never said she was a fashion icon. And I agree with BC Jackie O’s clothes where nothing to write home about they where just plane dresses and suits with a pill box hat. I don’t know why people say she is a fashion icon.

I really like the aqua dress. It’s simple, shows off her figure. Would look great in any color for any occasion and especially looks good against her beautiful skin color.
