First Lady Michelle Obama accompanied her her husband, President Obama, to Oslo, Norway for the Nobel Peace Prize festivities. The First Couple attended the signing ceremony at the Norwegian Nobel Institute. In the afternoon, the President and the First Lady met with King Harald V and Queen Sonja at the Royal Palace and then attended the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony at the Oslo City Hall. The evening concluded with Nobel Banquet at the Grand Hotel where the First Couple was greeted by a cheering crowd of thousands.
I must say the First Lady did not disappoint with her choice of gown for the Nobel Prize Banquet…

She was undoubtedly the belle of the ball in a blue silver gown, that rivaled the one she wore to the Kennedy Center Honors earlier in the week. Like I’ve said before, I don’t usually like to focus on the First Lady’s fashion choices, but sometimes she looks so stunning she leaves me no other choice. Don’t even let me get started on the jacket that she wore with the dress. As a budding seamstress I have to pay homage to the design and detail.

Very nice photos. They both look very good. Although I must say Michelle seems to have a lot on her mind, and the world on her shoulders. Keep up the beautiful work. Much love and happiness for the New Year!!

Michelle has such natural style and grace but also she carries herself with a deliberateness that is an inspiration to women of all shapes and sizes. I am so very proud of her!

I’m so proud of her. And I want her to know that. I think I will write the First Lady a letter. I see so much of the negative things that I want to let her know that I’m still in her corner. I think she has done a wonderful job as this country First Lady. And I believe she will only get better. Am I bias? You better believe I am and don’t mind saying so either.

You honestly believe that the gold outfit she wore to the ceremony was stunning? Everyone at work today couldn’t get over how tacky she looked.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures. I keep you and President Obama in my thoughts, and prayers always. President Obama, The White House, are doing an excellent job and have done so much in one year. I enjoy all the pictures, information and I feel now I am more informed then in any of my past years.
Have a Merry Christmas and a “Very Happy New Year”!. I am looking forward to the New Year because I am excited for all great things President Obama is doing for our country.

My God, what was she thinking in that stupid sweater? Why ruin the ugly and shiny Halloween costume dress? OMG, total lack of fashion sense … and those RUFFLES?!?!? Poor, classless, taste free thing.

On the video with the FL and the president waving at the crowd, they looked liked royalty and the coat that Michelle had on was the reason for that atleast i think. I liked the gold dress she was wearing was it made out of velvet? I like the grey dress as well but something about the bottom part wasn’t righ it was too long or something and she kept holding it up as she was walking but it wasn’t an ugly dress. She didn’t look tacky Mirta, you and Kiely need to stop.
Did anyone look at the vid and saw when the pres asked did he breach protocol ? lol I heard snipers were everywhere when they was waving from that balcony.
Do anyone know the name of the King or maybe he is the Prince of Norway he’s kinda young with a beard?

The King of Norway is an old man who was young enough to have lived in the White House during WWII with his godfather, President Roosevelt. I think the man with the beard is his son.

MIRTA and KILEY…….why don’t you two just chill out? You can try to tear her down all you want, but it won’t work. Regardless what the First Lady wear you people will fine some fault with it. Why? Because you can’t stand her. I’m so glad that for every tasteless, tacky, hateful person like you, there are many others who think alot of this First Lady. As I have said before, I don’t like everything she wears. And I can say that without trying to demean the First Lady. But I judge this woman by more than what she wears. I respect her. I’m proud to have her as my First Lady. When I was at work, we were talking about how the President and First Lady look like a King and Queen as they stood on that balconey waving to the crowd.

All those who talked about how tasteless, tacky, and classless, Michelle Obama looked. I would love to see how they dress? Come on folks, put some pictures of yourself up. Let’s see if you have any class, any taste. Let us see if you are tacky. I think I already know the answer to that. I’m not a hateful person, but I get alittle pist at these attacks at the First Lady. That Google picture was the final straw for me. Whenever I get the chance I will speak up in her defense. Just letting you guys here know that.

Just lovely photos! I could care less what the haters say. My eyes do not deceive me. First Lady Michelle is a gorgeous drop dead black woman!
Did any of you listen to Will & Jada Smith interview the President? Talk about refreshing! …And you should hear the President speak about his lovely wife! Oh, I like him so much!

Just because someone doesn’t like one of her outfits, does that really make them a hater?
Personally I thought the outfit she wore to the actual ceremony was horrible. I thought it was very unflattering and rather aging. Nor would I describe Mrs Obama as regal and elegant. Does that make me a hater?
I thought she looked lovely at the banquet – great dress. I thought the bottom half of the dress added bulk where she doesn’t need it but judging by the things she wears, she is clearly very comfortable with her body, so well done to her!
Personally, I think some women like her in prominent positions don’t do themselves any favours. If you don’t want the focus to be on your clothes all the time, wear the same outfit more often and the media will soon get very bored and start to focus on other things you are doing. But that is topic all on its own.

I think what’d we’d find, Fl, is that sections of the media would then start all kinds of needless analysis of the “significance” of her wearing the same outfit nore often. There’s ample scope for coverage of what the First Lady is doing, and what she’s wearing on any given occasion.
The photographs I’ve seen of the First Lady on the balcony have been my very favourite of the Oslo trip. She looks so happy, and I’d love to know more about that inspired Alaia jacket. I’ve never seen another quite like it…amazing workmanship!

Dee, unfortunately you are correct. It’s a no win situation. And completely agree with you about the balcony and banquet outfit.
Anyway, I’m sure (or rather I hope) Mrs Obama doesn’t care about what’s written about her.
Greetings from a rather cold London afternoon!

What I love about Michelle is that no matter how many people hate on her belts, etc. She will always wear them because that is what she is comfortable with. She is clearly comfortable with herself and will not let someones negativity stop her.

You’re not a hater because you dislike an outfit the First Lady wear. You’re a haters when you feel it is necessary to call names, like tasteless, tacky, classless, just to name afew. Some name calling have been worse. You and anyone else have your right to not like what the First Lady wears, but she has her right to wear what (she) likes. And I hope she continue to wear what she likes, belts and all.

Why do I get the feeling that the negative bloggers dislike of the First Lady extends to more than just her clothes ?
I visit a lot of sites related to the First Lady because I am in awe of her. I can tell you that I have seen certain names come up all over the internet.
That is an awful waste of life expended on someone that you hate rather than admire.
I mean really…………..if some of these haters found a lump tonight and were told by their doctor tomorrow that they have six months to live, would they use that precious time tearing down our beautiful first lady ???
The Obama’s are in the White House. They have staff at their beck and call. They have date nights in Paris, Rome & Broadway. They have beautiful meals cooked for them. They wine and dine dignitaries the world over. They travel the world in style. They are in love. They have gone down in history. Michelle has designers falling at her feet. Yes the President has a hard job but he wanted it and was voted in a democratic election and by all accounts is doing a fine job.
Haters, please accept that. Life is too short. You can’t change anything, well…….. not for another 3 years at least so lets just enjoy and support our President and his beautiful wife. Stop kidding yourselves that Bush was great or that McCain would have been a better President. I know that if some of you were drowning, you would rather die than grab hold of the President’s hands. Please get over yourselves. He’s the President, not Jesus and he is the best thing that has happened to America in a long time and you all know it.

The FL knows what she is doing. She has always been interested in fashion and had developed her unique style before Barack. She dresses for the world audience as the FLOTUS, and represents the compassionate, new, youthful, intelligent leadership of the biggest, richest economy and most powerful country in the world. In any group setting she stands out with her unique style and elegance which is most appropriate for the uniqueness of the office.
