On Wednesday First Lady Michelle Obama gave members of the press a sneak peak at the White House’s holiday decorations. The decorations included a 390 pound gingerbread replica of White House with the kitchen garden and a marzipan image of First Dog Bo Obama, and the official 18 ½ foot tree in the Blue Room. The theme for this year’s holiday decorations is “Reflect, Rejoice and Renew.” On Tuesday the White House welcomed its first holiday visitors. More than 50,0000 people are expected to visit the White House this year during the holiday season.
“I have wanted the American people to share in our journey, to share in the history and the excitement that makes the White House such a special landmark in this nation,” said the First Lady. “That’s why we’ve worked so hard throughout this year to invite as many people as possible to events here at the White House.”
The First Lady thanked the East Wing and Residence staff and the 92 volunteers from 24 states who that spent over 3,400 hours decorating the White House.

I’m loving the Obama’s more and more each day. Michelle will go down in history as the hardest working first lady and someone who opened up the White House to America and the world.
Haters, please continue to hate because you just make Michelle a stronger and better person.

Well, all of those volunteers and White House staff who devoted their time to making the decorations so very lovely have done a wonderful job! The many visitors over the holidays will enjoy and be appreciative of their hard work, I’m sure.
The gingerbread replica of the White House and the mini kitchen garden are amazing, and the diddy little Bo is so cute!
And it’s all just topped off by the marvellous First Lady. She was just born to do this, and every time I see a photo of her, oh, how it shows.

I would like to say thank you to the first lady. Michelle Obama has given the true meaning of Christmas and allowed people on the outside to see the beauty on the inside. She has allowed people like me to make history and give a piece of what the White House stands for today. We can view the many cultures in the White House today that many, like us, of Indian Descent, to have a helping hand in making the world more loving each day.

Since when does “poop” have eyes and white feet??? That’s just silly. I love what the volunteers have done. It’s beautiful. I hope we get to see many more photos.

All of the decorations look great! I think the White House looks really good!
Did anyone else notice that Michelle only used the word Christmas one time when referring to the Obama’s only, the word holiday was used instead every other time. I don’t really appreciate the de-christianization of Christmas. Michelle did not say Christmas tree in this video either, she simply called them decorations trees. I have read articles that state people are not allowed to call the trees in the White House “Christmas trees” they must call them “holiday trees.” This is extemely disturbing to me and many fellow christians in my community!! I am over the political correctness, this is a majority Christian nation and we should not have to change our traditions to show political correctness.
