Of course, the blogosphere is still buzzing–be it liking/loving, hating, being agog, or otherwise, depending on how and what you read–about Michelle opening up the Democratic National Convention next Monday and all. So the support/praise and chicanery/foolishness/attack levels are amped to about…oh…11.Â
Rev. Irene Monroe at Burning Cane provides an intriguing post about the chasm between straight and LGBTQ women activists in the “Feminists for Obama” organization, the DNCC, and Michelle not using the word “feminist.”Â
Ellinorianne at Clintonistas for Obama calls for the Left to push back against the “not-knowing-who- Obama-is” meme–which manifests itself when the media and the right-wing misconstrues Michelle’s statements–instead of believing it.Â
Todd Beeton at MyDD (Direct Democracy) perceives Michelle’s headlining the event as a “coming-out party” and will easily pass the “First Lady In Your Living Room” test.
AJStrata at the Strata-Sphere  believes this will be the week the alleged “Whitey” video will either surface or the rumor finally laid to rest.Â
The Kingston Chronicle, which states it’s a “Jamaican alternative news media,” labels Michelle is a “misguided American.” No explanation offered as to why the bloggers feel this way, but the post links to a speech Michelle gave at the Gay and Lesbian Council this June. (Please don’t turn any comments about this into a “those-West-Indians-are-more-homophobic” thread.–AJP)Â
Tim Brugger at Not Wright for America feels Michelle’s speech may cause headaches for the DNCC organizers because she may go off-script and–wait for it–talk about her “not being a pround American” and paying off her loans from Princeton.Â
And speaking of Princeton, a couple more conservative bloggers, Fuzzy’s Dad and Lady Jane, are keeping up the “Michelle=Militant Black Woman” meme with a discussion of a post found on the urban myth-debunking site, Snopes.com, concerning her alma mater’s restricting access to her senior thesis.Â
Other buzz: the new ad featuring Michelle and Cindy McCain (and others) coming out of Matt Damon’s mouth. Seriously, Matt Damon lip-syncs to the words of the candidates’ spouses talking about aiding impoverished people around the world and participating in the electoral process.Â
