As you know last month, CNN hired comedically challenged (yes, I made that up) and illiterate Black-woman-hating entertainer, DL Hughley for the sole purpose of being able to tell offensive racist jokes about Barack Obama without CNN being labeled racist. Yes, the age of the professional racist Black straw man is upon us. The powers that be will use Black faces to do what political correctness will not permit White people to do. You can read my views about the ... Read More

We have another in a growing list of laments that somehow the fact that Michelle Obama will not be working for someone else and will be free to fill her time with the activities of her choosing is somehow a great tragedy and a setback for women. This time its Rebecca Traister in The National Post in an article called "Not Such a Long Way Baby"
Americans may be ready for a black president, but not, apparently, for a career-minded First Lady averse ... Read More

John McCain is down in the poll numbers, down in the electoral college projections, and looks to have a number of red states torn from his grasp. His campaign has gone on the attack over the past week, most noticeably by making referance to Obama's aquaintanceship with former Weatherman Bill Ayers. Now, McCain has broken his own campaign rule of leaving spouses alone and is attacking Michelle.
Via Talking Points Memo:
The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to ... Read More

In the never-ending cascade of racially-tinged slights against Michelle, Bill O' Reilly weighed in during his show last night, saying Michelle Obama resembles an "angry woman".
From Crooks and Liars:
O’REILLY: Now, I have a lot of people who call me on the radio and say she looks angry. And I have to say there’s some validity to that. She looks like an angry woman. Did you ask her about that?
JOHNSON: Don’t they say that about you, too?
O’REILLY: Yeah, but I’m not ... Read More

Let's see what the blogs are saying about Michelle Obama. Seems that some folks are concerned about Michelle's absence from the 9/11 Ceremony on Thursday. Hillbuzz, Newsbusters, Sheep's Crib-Issues, Half Moon Bay Review, and many many more are asking the question: Where was Michelle Obama? According to Jake Tapper of the ABC blog, Political Punch, The campaign had originally thought the 9/11 Commemoration was just for the two candidates, and didn’t realize Cindy McCain was going until earlier this ... Asked to compare Michelle Obama to Sarah Palin, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) stated:
"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.
Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”
Nothing vague, coded, or nuanced about that--just a dose of that good old Southern racism charm. Read More

Not a full 48 hours after Barack Obama re-iterated that families are off-limits (he'd said as much back in May as well), former Massachussetts governor (and former presidential candidate) Mitt Romney made a reference to the ages-old quote about Michelle's pride in her country.
He told the pumped up Republican crowd at St. Paul's Xcel Center, "Just like you, there has never been a day when I was not proud to be an American."
Anita Dunn, senior adviser to the Obama campaign pulled ... Read More

A few days ago, the PUMAs posted a series of videos--a movie version of the non-existent "Whitey" tapes that features an abundance of racist, anti-Islamic and anti-African stereotypes, complete with "actors" in ...*drum roll* BLACKFACE!
At the center of their attack is Michelle Obama and a caricature of her based on completely unsubstantiated (and long refuted) rumors about both her and her husband.
At this point, do these folks still not understand why they aren't allowed to "critique" the Obamas without being ... Read More

Just prior of Michelle's remarks at the Democratic National Convention, an email was sent out by the Obama campaign showing Michelle in last-minute preparations for her speech. The email included a video, and shows her consulting with advisers and playing with her daughters.
You can view the video HERE.
Michelle brought the house down in her speech this evening. Stay tuned for coverage! Read More

Of course, the blogosphere is still buzzing--be it liking/loving, hating, being agog, or otherwise, depending on how and what you read--about Michelle opening up the Democratic National Convention next Monday and all. So the support/praise and chicanery/foolishness/attack levels are amped to about...oh...11.
Rev. Irene Monroe at Burning Cane provides an intriguing post about the chasm between straight and LGBTQ women activists in the "Feminists for Obama" organization, the DNCC, and Michelle not using the word "feminist."
