I wasn't sure if I should post this under chicanery and foolishness or merchandise. I'll let you all be the judge. Thanks to Gwen, a vigilant Michelle Obama Watcher, we've found out that the Danbury Mint may be trying to pull the old bait and switch. After 5 months of waiting to receive her Inaugural rendition of the First Lady all dolled up, she received a cheap imitation in a cheesy cheesecloth dress. This lack luster, pale imitation of the First Lady ... Read More

The Danbury Mint has just released the Michelle Obama Inaugural Doll. Standing 16 inches excluding the stand, the doll is a stunning likeness of the First Lady on the night of the Inauguration. The artisans replicated the First Lady's inaugural ball attire right down to the jewelry.
Now, I'm not saying that you should rush over to Danbury and buy the doll - but, if you're a collector the price tag of this collectors' seems pretty reasonable to me. I 100% agree with the ... Read More

Juan Williams again baselessly attacked Michelle Obama, claiming "her instinct is to start with this 'blame America' ... stuff"
During the January 26 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, NPR news analyst and Fox News political contributor Juan Williams again baselessly attacked first lady Michelle Obama, claiming that "her instinct is to start with this 'blame America' ... stuff." Williams asserted that "{i}f you think about liabilities for President {Barack} Obama that are close to him ... Read More

Clearly they want more attention from us. To all those who poo pooed and told us that there wasn't anything to the Huffington Post's repeated use of "sassy" to describe Sasha Obama, WE TOLD YOU SO. They are at it again, this time on their 23/6 "comedy" site.I guess a well behaved little Black girl doesn't fit nicely into their acceptable Black girl images box, so they had to make things up.
Sasha Obama didn't tell anybody off. The youngest first daughter is ... Read More

Despite some of the scathing criticism of First Lady (SQUEE!) Michelle Obama's inaugural fashions in the comments section :(, that's not stopping the fashion industry from continuing the age old tradition of swiftly cranking out fashion knock offs. The New York Daily News printed an article titled" Fashion's copycats are having a ball knocking off Michelle Obama's gown"
Michelle had barely danced at her first ball as First Lady by the time designers at the Manhattan-based Faviana had drawn up sketches for ... Read More

We've been hoodwinked, bamboozled, toyed with like the last M&M in the candy dish at a chocoholic convention. I've been giving these folks tips along the way. According to the NY Times, Mrs O, one of our favorite blogs is not an "indie" blog at all, but an experiment by an advertising agency.
Earlier this week, Michelle Obama Watch gave a big shout out to Mrs O a blog about Michelle Obama's fashion. I thought they were an independent operation like ours, but ... Read More

So I skipped over their headline photo of a topless Barack Obama and scrolled down the front page at the Huffington Post and saw a cute photo of Natasha "Sasha" Obama and had an ONTD ( Oh No They Didn't) moment when I read the headline "Sasha Obama's Sassy Vacation Sunglasses." Sassy? I wasn't the only one who had a problem with the headline:
If HuffPo had just one black editor, they would immediately stop using the word "sassy" to describe this ... Read More

There is a flood of Obama-related merchandise hitting the market, but none of those merchandisers have been kind enough to hit up that PayPal button to help defray the cost of a couple of months of hosting fees. A BIG THANK YOU to Andre Harris Designs for chipping in. Andre has designed two limited editions prints. One includes the entire First Family:
Perfect for dressing up any wall, this is the perfect size for maximum visual impact, or instantly creating a theme for ... Read More
