Politico is speculating that the above ad may "risk a father’s anger." This new advertising campaign is sponsored by the non-profit Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). According to PCRM's press release the new ad campaign is designed to "draw a sharp comparison between the foods served at the school the president’s children attend and those served at other schools." The ads have been placed in Union Station to "greet congressional staffers." PCRM's main objective is to get "Congress to reform the Child Nutrition Act to help schools serve more fruits, ... The school year may have ended but education continues for the Obama girls. NY Times Writer Rachel L. Swarns gives us examples of the rich learning experiences of the first daughters. Whether it was historical sites in Russia, yummy lessons in Rome, or slave tragedies in Ghana, these experiences will last a lifetime.
The Obamas discussed the slave trade with their girls during a visit to a slave port in Ghana. They focused on volunteering at Fort McNair in Virginia, where the girls helped ... Read More

I watch with fascination each time First Lady Michelle Obama wears an up do, because inordinately those not familiar with the amazing versatility of Black hair will immediately crow that she "cut" her hair. So this happened last week as well.Well now the Chicago Tribune is weighing in with some CRACK investigative journalism regarding the First Lady's hairstyle. James Oliphant makes fun of the media hub hub because the First Lady did not inform the media. Paging Erin Aubrey Kaplin!

If so, you are not alone. Long Island, NY residents Krissy and Nandra Best are often mistaken for the first daughters. Whether it is the mall or a restaurant, people assume that they are Sasha and Malia Obama. Here is a snippet from a NY Daily News article by Samuel Goldsmith:
"We tell people,'No, we're not' but they keep on insisting that we're them," 9-year-old Krissy told the Daily News Saturday from her home in Medford, L.I.
Their mother, Karen Noel Best, takes on a ... Read More

So some of you are now discovering what I've known for a while, people on the internet can say some pretty mean and hateful things about Sasha and Malia Obama. Some of you have posted links to other sites in the comments section. I hope this post explains why those links haven't made any of our posts. The attacks on the weeMichelles will only continue over the course of the summer as they are seen out in public with their parents. In ... Read More

This week MOW went international as the First Lady, Mrs Robinson, & the weeMichelles traveled with the President to the G8 Summit. While Mrs Obama was away the blogosphere was all a buzz. Stories ranged from the VBH shiny black alligator manila clutch, that was reported to be $5,950, the arrogance of the First Lady (that was later amended to include a statement to Michelle Obama Watch fanatics), and an old rumor has resurfaced in a small corner of the blogosphere. Here's a roundup of the First Lady's week ... Read More

Yes, I read the Drudge Report. So anytime Drudge features a photo of First Lady Michelle Obama, its accompanying an article or critique that is non too kind. So my heart just dropped when I saw Malia Obama featured on the top half of the Drudge report last night because I KNEW it couldn't be for anything positive or good. The headline Drudge assigned was "Miss Obama's peacenik T-shirt sends message to G8 leaders..." and it links to a story in the ... Read More

There is a bit of a kerfuffle surrounding the marketing geniuses over at J. Crew. Not content to let the world figure out that Sasha and Malia were wearing J Crew, J Crew sent out press releases to reporters with style numbers and prices. Politico classified this as "hawking."
I find it funny that any "newsgathering" organization could accuse a clothing company of "hawking" after the revelation that they have been "hawking" access to reporters. But I digress. From Politico J. Crew ... Read More

This weekend the Obamas celebrated their first Independence Day in the White House. The First Family hosted a barbecue on Saturday for an estimated 1200 military families on the south lawn of the White House. This weekend also marked another first for the family. Malia Obama, who turned 11 years old on the 4th, celebrated her first birthday in the White House. "I should say that there's also one girl in particular who's just thrilled that all of you are here and that is Malia ... Read More
