Bluewater Productions, a publishing and production company specializing in comic books, graphic novels, and multimedia, recently announced that Michelle Obama will be immortalized in a comic book.  As part of their Female Force series, the comic book will follow Michelle’s life from her youth on the South Side through the 2008 presidential campaign and election day.

According to Bluewater Productions President Darren G. Davis:

Mrs. Obama is a dynamic force and one of the most influential women in the world. Her potential influence on future policy decisions makes her a fascinating figure to feature.

In creating an image of new First Lady, Michelle Obama, artist Vinnie Tartamella stated:

[I]t was my goal to represent her class, beauty and intelligence. I hope I reflected these qualities and characteristics in this historical piece. I’m truly honored to have been asked to create this.

The Female Force comic book series showcase influential women who are making and shaping modern history.  Michelle is the third influential woman to be featured and follows the biographies of Senator Hillary Clinton and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. You can get your copy of Female Force: Michelle Obama next year when copies will be available sometime in April of 2009.

That really doesn’t look like her to me, (lol) but at least this is something positive! (I hope.) Michelle has been my (s)hero for a while now, so it’s only right she gets her own comic book.

  2. I can’t wait to get my copy!

Um………well that’s good news and certainly original. LOL

  8. I caught the new “comic book” and think that is pretty amazing. But did you guys catch the new style guide that A Avon is going to do? They’re a Harper Collins imprint, Mandi Norwood is going to write it. Should be interesting if it covers off the rack to designer gowns.
