Today Michelle Obama was given a tour of the White House residence quarters by First Lady Laura Bush. The red dress looked amazing.
All photos are courtesy of the White House. This is sooo the dress she should have worn on election night, but it was cold that night.
“After a brief private meeting, the First Lady led Mrs. Obama on a tour of the White House that focused primarily on the private residence of the historic home. After this tour, the First Lady and Mrs. Obama visited in the West Sitting Hall, where they discussed raising daughters in the White House, as Jenna and Barbara Bush were similar in age to Malia and Sasha Obama when they visited their grandfather, President George H. W. Bush, during his presidency. Mrs. Obama was honored to finally meet the First Lady, who was a gracious hostess. Following their visit, Mrs. Obama met with Admiral Rochon, the White House Chief Usher.” cnn.com

I heard recently that, despite all the perks that come with living in the white house, the first family still has to pay for any food that their private guests consume

That dress is sensational. I think it might be my favorite of all the ones she’s worn over the last months. She is so statuesque.

That dress is red hot. It accentuates her curves. It’s a colour that means business and she is positively glowing in it. Barack must be sop proud to have such a beautiful woman beside him. This is her best dress to date. I can’t wait for them to move in to the White House. Watching The Obama’s life unfold is going to be like watching Dallas and Dynasty back in the 80’s !!!!!!

She looks great the color is so nice with her complexion. I think the reason why she wears kitty heels and flats is because she dont want to be taller than barack because if she wears full fledge heels she will be taller than Barack

I agree with that assessment she doesnt want to be taller than her husband, I cant say I blame her. I can relate she is a tall woman like myself, I believe she is 5-11. But she is a stunning woman and she looks great no matter what she has on. She could put on a potatoes sack and still add class to it.

I pray that THE FIRST LADY will never ever be caught without her hair done, and i also pray that she find’s a new hair style, MICHELLE OBAMA is no longer just BARACK OBAMA’S wife, but she is the FIRST LADY, and that title carry’s a lot of weight, THE FIRST LADY should wear panty hose with her dress’s, regardless of what, because trust me LAURA BUSH, CINDY MCCAIN, and SARAH PALIN, were alway’s neat and in order, regardless of what, their hair was alway’s neat and in place MICHELLE OBAMA need’s to find a PERSONAL MAKEUP ARTIST, AND A BLACK ONE AT THAT! look at OPRAH’S MAKE UP, AND LOOK AT TYRA’S MAKE UP, their make up is alway’s in tact, MICHEELE has strong facial feature’s, and that say’s a lot, and she has a good height, she has a beautiful figure, I want the right person to get a hold of her and bring out all the hidden attribute’s that need’s to be brought out, because trust me the media is waiting and watching to see if THE FIRST BLACK, FIRST LADY IS GOING TO BRING GRACE, AND CLASS TO THE WHITE HOUSE.

This dress is much better than the red/black Rodriquez dress. Thank you for stepping it up and realizing that shabby chic is not what we want from our First Lady.
I realize that we all have our casual days but the baseball caps for adults is so 90’s. Michelle should remember that we are always watching.
This dress is fabulous

To those (Mattie Wallace) who say Ms. O needs to make all these changes as if she’s not good enough must have missed the last 2 yrs. People are loving her for being, HER! She doesn’t have to wear pantyhose. It is not a law. She still looks as beautiful or even more so then present and previous women of stature in politics. Keep in mind that she is a modern woman.
Her hair is beautiful and to be honest she has either already gotten a new hairstylist or taken her hair more seriously because it certainly looks better then it did when they first started the campaign.
I beg of our country not to be so quick to find something wrong with our leaders.
Ms. O is doing just fine!!!

For the first time in my adult life, I am really really proud of my “First Lady”. She may not be perfect but damn near it, to me. She is for THIS time and she fits just right, whatever she wears or doesn’t wear. She doesn’t have to be in competition with any other first lady because they were each for their respective times. Why not focus on what she brings to helping her husband better this country. Let’s not try to change who she is because it doesn’t “fit” some stereo-type. Truth be told, she is very aware that she has the “eyes of doubt” searing through her soul even. I love you Michelle Obama, and you are so beautiful to me and to us and you make us proud. God Bless you, God Bless your husband and children and God Bless America, where everyone should be given a chance.

Maria Pinto and Michelle O, hit another one out of the park with this one. I bet its flying off the shelves.
The color is great and the fit is perfect.
On another note, I’m really glad that Laura Bush showed so much class and consideration that she calmed the waters surrounding Michelle’s “really proud” remark. It takes a big person with a lot of character to not jump on the bandwagon. I think Michelle remembered that and it encouraged her to be gracious when someone else had great need of it.

Congratulations to Barack and Michelle,
You both show courage grace and style. Michelle you are very elegant, and classy, you will make a great first lady, no stockings and all.
I have learned more about politics with this campaign, then in my history classes, and I’m looking forward to watching learning and supporting you. I also plan to visit Washington D. C. again to tour the white house. May God continue to bless you with wisdom, courage and strengh. Yes you can. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime and I am so grateful to be alive to witness it for myself. My grandmother who is deceased now kept a scrapbook of Black first. she would really be proud and now I document and lot of family and black history.

I have a daughter and son. Our President Elect, Barck Obama and Future First Lady Michelle Obama have sparked conversation around the globe and our dinner table. Never have my children engaged with such enthusiastic and true interest than with this couple, our new First Family!. Every day, I received a calls from the kid asking about issues or questions surrounding their campaign. They would come over and each tiime bring articles, or interesting topics about the couple and the hope they inspired. How does the electorial college work? What is a primary?. Are you a registered voter and are you voting beame their chant. We actually hosted an election party that lasted until 12:00PM.
We could not wait to see them election night. Only our new first family envoke this kind of interest. THIS COUPLE IS THE CHANGE WE ALL NEED.

I think Michelle is absolutely stunning! She is going to be a role model and inspiration to young and mature black women to look and be the best they can. I’m a baby bumer and was taught that black women had to step it up to even be noticed back in the day. Michelle illuminates pose and grace and that it is ok to look like and be a lady. Michelle is my hero and I intend to represent her in every way when I walk out the door every day.

In response to Mattie on nov. 12, 2008, Michelle is beautiful and graceful without all the make-up and glam. She has shown us that the natural beauty of black women is all that is required. I think it is wrong for us to compare her to Laura Bush, Sarah Palin, or even Hilary Clinton because Michelle is something they are not - black. Black women have beauty and struggle and integrity and hope engraved in their skin. We do not need Maybeline or Mac or Bobbi Brown to enhance what has been there since birth. I applaud Michelle for showing black women and girls that it is okay to be black. Black is beauty and distinction and class and you do not need make-up to prove that.
