Michelle Obama did a daily updates at the Democratic National Convention. You’ve already seen her behind the scenes video from Day 1, but we dug up the other two. It is a different side than what you may have gotten from the speech.
Day 1 - Preparing for her speech
Day 3 - Delegate Service Day

I first saw this captivating woman in person last March, and this lady is truly Barack’s rock. Love her. She’s a “real” role model for black girls, finally.

She’s a very likable woman. I don’t understand the hatred.

She paraded her kids onto the stage at the DNC. She trouts them out on the magazines. The argument was that Palin’s family was fair game because she introduced them to us. One ought to ask if the Obama’s are fair game? Then there are the rumors that prove untrue about Palin (her DS kid really her daughters). Maybe someone should start rumors about the Obamas and their kids. Code word: DailyKOS/moveon.org Besides, eventually the “truth” will out. BTW IPs have been traced and connections have been made regarding dailykos and the obama campaign.

In response to JVSP, please note that Mrs. Obama is NOT running for the office of Vice President of the United States and Mrs. Palin currently is.
In the past the function of the U.S. Vice President has been primarily ceremonial (laying of wreaths, speaking with world, ambassadors, etc.). Since the Cheney - Bush administration the roles are actually a complete co-partnership. In fact, many suggest that Vice President Cheney makes the decisions and President Bush implements them via his signature; but I digress.
In all fairness to the function of the job of VP of the Unites States, the purpose is to replace the President in the event of illness, injury or incapacitation. This is important for Americans to know, because without being morbid, Mr. McCain is an older candidate whose life expectancy is shorter than the other candidates. There is a high probability that Mrs. Palin could be the President and people want to know if she could juggle the role of parent and president. Also would the decisions she make as the tentative President be one thing for the country and completely the opposite for her own family ?
All of the candidates and their respective running mates and spouses are parents. No one thinks of that as a negative. However, Ms. Palin’s political positions (i.e. creationism, sex education, abortion) are in essence what has opened up her children (specifically her pregnant daughter and her youngest child) to this kind of scrutiny. There is irony present in this situation due to the political view points that she esposes.
As far as the media and children, they always want a good story and the more colorful and seemingly melodramatic the story, the better. It is up to the canidate, running mate and spouses to determine overall media access and how focused the media will be on the respective children.

Josephine, you forgot to mention the VP presides over the senate. The kids will all survive. Too much is being made about them and their lives.
The only thing that bugged me during Michelle’s DNC speech were her white bra straps. Nancy Pelosi shared hers with us also. Come on ladies, if you can’t figure out how to hide bra straps, don’t wear one!! Where’s the mistress of the wardrobe when you need her!!!
