Despite the impressive interviews the girls gave to Access Hollywood, it seems Obama and Michelle have reconsidered their decision to allow media access to Malia and Sasha.

Barack Obama said it was a mistake to allow his daughters to be interviewed extensively by “Access Hollywood,” and he will not allow it to happen again.

“I think that we got carried away in the moment,” the Illinois senator and presumptive Democratic presidential nominee told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Wednesday. “We were having a birthday party, and everybody was laughing. And suddenly this thing cropped up. I didn’t catch it quickly enough. I was surprised by the attention it received.”

  1. I am done with the media, as an independent who was looking forward to this year election, I am not just disgusted by all those news stations, I am outrage. Shame on Fox, and shame on all those other news stations who are promoting such negativity this election year. I just called to cancel my cable, no more of my money is going to those idiots in the media, even those who proclaim themselves as independent news stations. I now will read the news I want from BBC.com and other websites that pleases me,and, maybe cnn.com sometimes. More people should come on board, plus you save yourselves a few $100s.

I haven’t done cable TV in years. Good riddance. It’s complete total junk. I listen to NPR and BBC news.

  3. I guess I don’t get it? It seemed like a nice interview?

I’m not criticizing, you have to do what’s best for your kids. I’m just curious.

Michelle can’t let those people pick her and the kids for information because it will be used against them. They must prep their children on what to say and not say. It’s a part of protecting yourself from innocently being embarrassed by your kids (and wife). Roxie, when you see the other parts of the interview you’ll understand.

I saw the entire interview, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but it was the type of interview that only needed to happen that one spontaneous time and that’s it. Fortunately, Maria Menudos (I know I spelled that wrong) was the perfect person to be doing the interview at that time. The girls were not part of the original interview, it literally just “happened”…but it was perfect in its genuiness and spontaneity. I don’t blame the Obamas for saying “that’s it”, because the media that wasn’t able to capture that moment and the Rethuglican strategists are so jealous they are now trying to pick that sweet moment apart.

Kudos again to Access Hollywood’s Maria Menudos for the way she handled that moment

It’s their right, and I’m cool with it. but, don’t cut off the pictures of the WeeMichelles. We gotta have the pics..LOL

I watched the interview with the WeeMichelles and there was nothing wrong with it. They are very personable and intelligent childern who are a positive reflection on their parents. As far as Malia “being too grown”, I don’t see the problem with what she said during her interview. People love to make mountains out of ant hills.

  8. Miss Orange

The supporters of Obama are one step behind once again. He AGREES with Michelle Malkin and thinks this interview that you all celebrated to the rafters was a lousy idea.

  9. Miss Orange,

Michelle Malkin was attacking the parenting of Michelle, and Barack Obama. I don’t see how that low life Michelle Malkin would even be considerate to be right.

A mistake huh? O, you can’t fool me. You have one of the tightest, savviest, most impressive campaign in modern history and you’re a pretty bright fella. That interview was nothin’ but net, politically speaking. If it was an oops, it was one of the best oops you could have made. Have you seen what a McCain oops looks like? It ain’t pretty, downright cringe-worthy (anybody up for a chorus of “Bomb, bomb Iran”?) like that pathetic, creepy, lime green speech he gave when you came out like a rockstar and accepted your party’s nomination. Filling a stadium with 20,000 supporters with 17,000 supporters waiting outside, just to catch a glimpse of the man. Those two little girls, bless their hearts, just pulled in a more goodwill and voters. That sweet family interview is political gold because it was spontaneous and genuine and a smart move. It is also a smart move to say after the fact that it wasn’t a smart move. Axelrod and Obama are masters of this elegant iron-fist-in-velvet-glove sophisticated political theater and it’s about damn time! I love watching this campaign just to admire how adroit they are, always one step ahead of the curve. As a matter of fact, it was running like greased lightening before Hillary’s people came on board to “help” (look at all the good it did her). Barack, you sly-boots, you’re being coy, but that’s good, you know you’re doing the right thing. I can’t wait for the debates! Yes we can!

It’s rare that I read a post and I have to rea-read it just to make sure I got it the first time.
Your post said everything that I thought when Obama regretted the interview.
This man will be a “required reading” many many years to come for all you political science students out there. Obama has runs a campaign that hasn’t been run in a damn long time… thank you! We love you and hope to someday watch you play poker or chess. A real, “play to win” sort of game…

    Obama ‘08!
