One of the latest controversies surrounding Michelle Obama is the alleged “whitey” tape, which some speculate contains a soundbyte of Michelle using the derogatory term to describes Whites. While some might expect the Republican party to give birth to such an allegation, apparently CNN’s Roland Martin and some other sources believe that Democrats (i.e. Hillary supporters) initiated the attack. When asked about the intensity of the attacks against Michelle Obama, Martin replied:
“I’m not surprised by it, but I think, also, we can’t blame Republicans for everything. It’s these idiot Democrats that started some of this stuff.”
Martin went on to drop names, and gave-up Larry Johnson as the Hillary Clinton supporter who birthed the “whitey” lie surrounding a tape that doesn’t exist.
As the rumor attempts to grow legs, blogs like New Media Alliance suggest that Barack Obama is protecting those who attacked his wife.

I agree with Roland. This was a last ditch effort by Team Clinton for the nomination. When the tape couldn’t be produced, her folks stopped talking about it. As far as I’m concerned much of what Barack has endured (Wright, Ayers, “whitey”) came at the hands of Clinton and or her supporters. I just don’t think the Repubs are quite that smart. Like they would even think to go near a Black church to investigate a preacher…I don’t think so! They are much more into name calling.

I know that Michelle Obama did not use those unhealthy words. She is smart, educated and she has no time for foolishness as such.

Who even calls people whitey anymore?? really Whitey?! That was the first sign that this was fake, because only white people, imitating black people use that term.
in all seriousness This is just sad! the mud slinging has reached an entirely new low with race involved! yuck!

LOL Shannon and Lynne!
I hadn’t even sat and thought that if Michelle *really* wanted to use a racial slur… it sure wouldn’t be “whitey.”
I also agree with Shannon that the racial mud-slinging has reached an all-time low. According to a close friend of mine, European countries are watching this election very closely for evidence that the US has truly advanced past the racial divide. Unfortunately, I’m not so sure our nation is passing the test of maturity and advancement.

European countries are not the only ones watching this farce of a country:

Larry Johnson’s been watching too much of “The Jeffersons.” LOL! I don’t know anyone that calls white people “whitey.” The thing that really cracked me up was how the years that this supposed event took place or even the people that were there. Some people said that she said this right after Katrina. The next day she said this after 9/11. Then another day she said it right after Bill Clinton spoke at Trinity. If that was true, that info would have been out at least a year ago! I will keep donating to the DNC, Sen. Obama, and progressive 527’s. Most of all, I will keep praying for Barack’s victory and for his family. No weapon formed against the Obamas should prosper!

Dan R,
Well, Hawa …. Please tell your European friends that all of us who won’t vote for Obama aren’t racists. The fact that the guy is a) ridiculously liberal and b) totally & dangerously unqualifed for the presidency just might have something to do with it as well.
Personally, I’m more than willing to vote for a black candidate for president, provided that it’s the RIGHT black candidate. I’d welcome the chance to vote for Colin Powell, for example. But while I’m willing to vote for a black candidate, at the same time I feel no obligation to do so whatsoever.
